If hot flashes were energy, I'd be fully capable of lighting up a Taylor Swift concert.
Alone.
We are sitting on an untapped resource and nobody is talking about it.
One billion women. Generating heat at 3am. Powering nothing.
The waste of it all. 😄
What would YOU power with yours? 👇

Right now, as you read this, approximately one billion women are navigating some stage of menopause.
One billion.
And yet it is still largely treated as a female problem to be managed quietly and moved past as quickly as possible.
We started MIMA in 2020. At the time, Oprah had talked about it. A handful of others had. Everyone else was getting on with it in private, which is what women have always been asked to do with the inconvenient parts of being women.
Things have changed. Women are louder now. But the underlying assumption hasn't shifted much.
Menopause is still framed as something wrong with women that needs fixing.
Not as a normal biological transition that half the population will experience. Not as something that deserves real support, decent research, and basic understanding.
We disagree.
Menopause is not a malfunction. It is not something to whisper about or push through alone.
It is, in fact, an arrival.
Welcome to MIMA. We started this in 2020 and we are not getting any quieter. 💜

Sleep
The one thing you desperately need is the one thing menopause steals first.
You used to fall asleep in minutes. Now you lie there at 3am, wide awake, solving problems that don't exist, having arguments with people in your head, and wondering if it's too early to make coffee.
Sleep deprivation at 55 is not a phase. It's a full-time occupation.
To every woman staring at the ceiling tonight — you are not alone. 💜
What's your 3am thought tonight? 👇

🗳️ Be honest. Which one are you RIGHT NOW?
A) Hot flash in a meeting, pretending everything is fine 🔥
B) Forgot why I walked into this room. Again. 🧠
C) Cried at an advert. It wasn't even a sad one. 😭
D) Sleeping like a baby — said no woman in menopause ever 😴

Here's what nobody tells you about menopause: it has a way of burning off everything that isn't essential.
The need to be liked by everyone? Gone. The habit of shrinking to make others comfortable? Evaporating. The patience for people who drain more than they give? P**f.
We spent decades smiling through things that deserved a very different response. Now our internal thermostat is broken, our sleep is theoretical, and our tolerance for rubbish has quietly dropped to zero.
What's left is clarity. And apparently, standards.
Turns out we always had them. We just finally stopped apologising for it.

This one came straight from something I've been working on — and I'm curious what it brings up for you. What's the one thing menopause finally gave you permission to stop tolerating?
Drop it in the comments. I'm collecting these stories — quite literally, as it turns out. 😊
