Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that honors freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. It marks the day when the last Black Americans who had been denied their freedom learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

At TransClinique, we recognize that liberation is not a moment in history. It is a continuing journey. We celebrate the strength, leadership, and contributions of Black communities, including Black transgender, nonbinary, and LGBTQ+ individuals whose voices have helped shape movements for equality and human rights.

As we reflect on the past, we also recommit ourselves to building a future where every person can live authentically, safely, and with dignity. Today, we honor those who came before us, celebrate our community, and continue the work of creating a more inclusive world for all.

February always feels a little electric. Like history is tapping us on the shoulder saying, “Pay attention. These people bent the timeline.”

For Black History Month, we’re celebrating the Black LGBTQIA+ legends who didn’t just exist, they shifted culture, fought systems, and made space for the rest of us to breathe.

At TransClinique, this one is personal. Our work in q***r and trans healthcare stands on the shoulders of people who dared to live out loud when the world told them not to.

Dr. King showed us that real change comes from compassion, courage, and standing up for what is right even when it isn’t easy.
