Greg Loiacono and have been described as soul rock where Curtis Mayfield meets with Led Zeppelin. There are now four singles out including the Sly Stone-inspired “Hope We Get To Dance” and a reworked Sade cover “Nothing Can Come Between Us”. The latest released this week is “Heartbreak One”!

“The idea for ‘Heartbreak One’ came about through my counseling work for substance use and mental health facilities around the Bay Area. I do a handful of these groups with teens. We use songs as a way for them to access feelings,” says Loiacono. “Sometimes folks will choose a song that reminds them of their first breakup. One of the kids said to the group ‘I’ll never love again.’ Seeing and hearing how crushed this person was, I flashed back to my first heartbreak and remembered just how brutal that was. That first one hurts so bad. There’s nothing like it.”

One of my favorite days of the year tomorrow… Record Store Day!

I had the pleasure of doing the artwork for the brand new Son Volt record ‘Sound Signal Serenades’ seeing its debut release on opaque sky blue vinyl exclusively for RSD tomorrow!

A couple other titles I am excited about are Stone Temple Pilots live double album ‘Live At Rolling Rock 2001’ and XTC’s ‘Live Boots: Live At Emerald City 1981’, the first in a series of forthcoming archival recordings.

Support your local record store and your favorite musicians tomorrow and pick up some great records!

Just Announced: I had the pleasure of doing the artwork with Jay Farrar for the new Son Volt record. ‘Sound Signal Serenades’ will be initially available exclusively on April 18, 2026 on Record Store Day at participating record stores. I’ve also been working with Jay on The Electro Melodier Society, the Son Volt fan club for over a year where new and old material is released every Tuesday to subscribers. The 12 songs on ‘Sound Signal Serenades’ were initially released to the fan club last year and are now being made available on limited opaque sky blue vinyl.
The cover photo is of race car driver Bob Burman taken circa 1915. Jay liked the photo with the goggles working in a metaphorical way to protect our eyes from what we’re seeing along the fascistic landscape. I colorized the photo and added the other odds and ends. This is a great collection of songs and am very excited for everyone to hear them!

Seems an appropriate time to post… oh, I don’t know… this…

Rage Against the Machine “Killing In the Name” live at the Dutch Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands May 31, 1993.

“Killing in the Name” is a visceral condemnation of those in power who use violence and systemic bias to control others, urging listeners to challenge and reject that control.
