Stamets steps beyond mycology and into the study of consciousness itself. His argument is if psilocybin’s precursors exist throughout the cosmos, and if psilocin demonstrably stimulates neuroplasticity, synaptogenesis, and altered states of consciousness here on Earth, then perhaps consciousness is not an anomaly. Perhaps it is an intrinsic property of the universe, expressed wherever chemistry and complexity allow.

On April 19, 1943, Albert Hofmann ingested L*D intentionally for the first time, an occasion now known as Bicycle Day.

He would later call L*D his “problem child,” a substance at once unpredictable and profoundly meaningful.

In “Hofmann’s Potion” (2002), Hofmann describes a key benefit of his problem child: it can make the familiar world teel vivid and wonderful again. He sees it not as an escape, but as a return to what is always here.

Despite prohibition and cultural upheaval, Hofmann remained convinced the substance would find its rightful place in our culture, helping us see the world with clarity again.

Hofmann lived to 102 years old, advocating for L*D’s responsible use and deeper understanding until the very end.

In 2020, researchers at Semmelweis University in Budapest gave rats a sub-psycdelic dose of ĐMT after inducing an ischemic stroke.

The result: the dead-tissue zone shrank significantly, and within 30 days the rats recovered near-complete motor function.

85% of stroke patients today receive no interventional treatment. Your brain loses 1.9 million neurons every minute a stroke goes untreated. There is almost nothing available for the majority of people who suffer from a stroke.
Now Algernon NeuroScience has cleared the final regulatory hurdles for a 40-patient, double-blind Phase 2a trial in Hungary. Stroke patients will receive an IV drip of ĐMT, at a dose low enough to cause zero psycdelic effects, within 24 hours of diagnosis.

ĐMT already occurs naturally in the human brain. Your body produces it during cardiac arrest, childbirth and right bf you die. This isn’t a fringe molecule. It’s one of the most ancient compounds in human biology.

The Phase 1 trial confirmed safety at sub-psychedelic levels. The Phase 2a will be the first time ĐMT is tested on actual stroke patients.

We are barely scratching the surface of what these molecules can do.

Ma*****na is illegal under federal law, but dozens of U.S. states have legalized it. And nearly all states have legalized medical ma*****na prescriptions for certain ailments. North Carolina is among the remaining states to resist any form of legalization.

North Carolina’s multibillion-dollar cannabis marketplace is largely unregulated. An advisory council formed by Democratic Gov. Josh Stein recommends adult-use legalization through licensed retail sales in an effort to improve consumer safety.
