My trans friend is getting FFS surgery at the end of the month & we had an amazing talk last night. I basically told her this could be one of the last really scary moments in her journey. ⬇️

Taking the plunge to ask for help losing weight felt embarrassing, getting VSG felt scary, but after that all the big decisions just felt… right.

I knew eating two tablespoons at a dinner restaurant would be considered weird, but I knew it was apart of my journey. I knew people would talk s**t when I got plastic surgery to remove 90 lbs of loose skin, but my goal was CRYSTAL CLEAR. 🦋

Once you can truly visualize YOUR pathway, the rest will fall in line. People will try to pull you down, carry on without their support. things will fall into your pathway, push it to the side and keep going. You know what needs to be done so hold your head high and consider it game time.

spent months trying to ibuprofen my way out of hip flexor tendinitis 😅 spoiler: didn’t work

so i tried electroacupuncture, dry needling & manual massage — and as an ER nurse who only trusts peer-reviewed research, what i found actually surprised me

The most powerful part of this journey has been realizing there is NEVER going to be a finish line.

For years, I thought I’d be satisfied when I hit a healthy weight.

Then I lost 90 pounds & still hated my stomach 😭

Then I thought it would happen when I got the flat belly.. now I NEED to do a handstand 😜

So every milestone taught me the same thing:

There is no finish line.

What started as a weight loss journey became a journey of showing up for the person I WANT to be.

So maybe instead of comparing ourselves to people on the internet, we should focus on one question: Would the version of me from a year ago be proud of me today?

Am I stronger?
Healthier?
More confident?
More comfortable in my own skin?

If the answer is yes, then we’re doing just fine 💕

Biggest plastics advice?

1. Find surgeons with before & afters that look like YOU.
2. Know your goals.
3. Be aggressively clear.
