Is a flow rate of 15 mL/s normal? Turns out, it depends a lot on your age.

Dr. Bilal Chughtai, Chief of Urology at Northwell Health, looked at over 18,000 real-world urine flow tests and found something surprising. The same number can mean "totally fine" for one man and "worth a closer look" for another, just because of the age gap.

If you've ever wondered whether your flow is normal for your age (not just "normal" in general), this one's worth a read.

Check it out here:

A Qmax of 15 mL/s means very different things at age 47 versus 76. Using 18,181 real-world at-home uroflow tests, we explored how urine flow changes with age and why age-adjusted interpretation matters.

"Too Young for BPH?" If you're a man in your 30s or 40s dealing with pelvic pain, a weak stream, or the constant urge to go, this question matters more than you'd think.

Many men assume these symptoms mean BPH, but BPH is rare before age 50. What's actually common at this age is a very different (and very treatable) condition called CP/CPPS, and it's frequently missed or misdiagnosed as a bacterial infection.

Dr. Bilal Chughtai, Chief of Urology at Northwell Health, breaks down what CP/CPPS actually is, why it's so often overlooked, and what an effective treatment path looks like.

Pelvic pain, urgency, and weak stream in your 30s or 40s may not be BPH. Learn why CP/CPPS is often overlooked, how it’s diagnosed, and what modern treatment looks like.

Many proudP users tell us they first noticed something was off simply by tracking how often they were getting up at night to p*e. And like most men, many assumed it was "just my prostate aging."
In this 3-minute reading article, Catherine Song, CEO & Co-Founder at Soundable Health, breaks down why that assumption is often wrong and why the real cause matters more than the symptom itself.

Why Do I Wake Up So Many Times at Night to P*e?

08/19/2026

Why is my ej*******on volume lower?
Lower ej*******on volume is a common side effect of both BPH medications (alpha-blockers, 5-ARIs) and procedures (TURP, Rezūm, UroLift), often due to retrograde ej*******on where semen enters the bladder instead of exiting. This is medically harmless but can affect fertility.

08/18/2026

Does BPH cause erectile dysfunction (ED)?
While BPH doesn't cause ED directly, the two conditions often coexist in the same age group and share similar vascular risk factors.

08/18/2026

Can I still father children after BPH treatment?
Some medications and surgeries affect ej*******on; if fertility is a priority, discuss this with your urologist before starting treatment.

08/16/2026

Will BPH surgery ruin my s*x life?
Modern minimally invasive treatments (MISTs) preserve s*xual functions much better than traditional TURP, so discuss your s*xual health or fertility priorities with your urologist when choosing a procedure.
