Another wonderful weekend at the Marin farmers market spent meeting incredible people and sharing why traditionally made A2 ghee is so special. 💛

A huge thank you to Abbey Simon for stopping by, trying our ghee, and sharing such kind words. Your support and thoughtful feedback mean so much to our family business.

It’s conversations like these that remind us why we love what we do. We can’t wait to see you all at the next market! ✨

What is a tadka? ✨

Tadka is a traditional cooking technique, often called “tempering spices.” Whole or ground spices are briefly toasted in hot ghee or oil, releasing their aroma and flavor before being added to a dish. The result is a layer of richness, fragrance, and depth that transforms everything from lentils to curries.

Long story short? It’s one of the reasons desi cooking tastes so darn good. 💛

While every tadka is different, common ingredients include cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chili, aromatics like ginger or garlic, and seasonings. For our yellow lentils, we used cumin seeds and turmeric cooked in our A2 ghee.

And every great tadka begins with great ghee! Our family run business crafts traditionally churned ghee in small batches right here in California! Follow our journey at Ghyo I A2 Ghee I Organic Ghee and use the link in our bio to get your jar today.
