These practices show what's possible with the iTero Lumina™ scanner as the tool behind the expertise.

We're celebrating the doctors and teams putting their iTero Lumina™ scanners to work every day, and showing the rest of the dental community what a connected digital workflow can look like in practice. From efficient new patient exams to confident use of the Align™ Oral Health Suite, these four practices capture the everyday wins that come with scanning smarter.

A big thank you to The Smile Studio Of Fairfield, Hopkins Dental Health, Dr. Christina Blacher, Dr. Bertram and Dr. Grothe for letting us share your work with our community.

Denture workflows don't have to mean more appointments.

In a new video, Dr. Jennifer Bell shares how she has used a more connected digital workflow to reshape her denture workflow, consolidating appointments, making outcomes more predictable, and reducing the back-and-forth shipping that used to slow the process down.

In Dr. Bell’s experience, traditional denture cases often involve multiple in-office visits and a lot of back-and-forth with the lab, adding time for both the practice and the patient, and this has made all the difference to her workflows.

By capturing a PVS wash impression and scanning it directly with the iTero Lumina™ scanner, Dr. Bell says data can reach her lab within the hour, letting prototype work begin almost immediately.

Do you want scans that are faster or more accurate? We say, “why choose?”

When it comes to intraoral scanning, faster can sometimes mean cutting corners, and more accurate can often mean slowing down. The iTero Lumina™ scanner set out to prove those assumptions wrong. Powered by iTero™ Multi-Direct Capture technology, the iTero Lumina™ scanner captures a 3x larger field of view¹ and scans up to 2x faster,² while still delivering full-jaw accuracy that outperformed four competitor scanners in independent bench testing.³

Rather than trading precision for speed, it captures more data, in less time, at a level of accuracy that supports predictable, first-time restoration fit.⁴

Has the iTero Lumina™ scanner changed your expectations for intraoral scanning? Share your experience in the comments.

Sometimes the biggest growth opportunity is already sitting in your clinic.

The Align™ Oral Health Suite reframes what your intraoral scanner can achieve for your practice. Layer in features like the iTero™ Side-by-Side 3D compare tool, available on the scanner and through the MyiTero™ portal, and every appointment becomes an opportunity to visually demonstrate value, build trust, and support the case for treatment.

That’s one reason that 92% of surveyed doctors agree that using the Align™ Oral Health Suite in patient consultations has helped increase practice revenue¹, and why practices like Dream Smile Dental Clinic say we’re setting the Gold standard.

Doctors were asked to indicate their agreement with the statement: "I increased practice revenue utilizing Align Oral Health Suite into my patient consultations." Digital design that keeps it simple.

Have you always considered digital design to be something too complex to bring in-house? The iTero™ Design Suite, powered by exocad™, brings the restorative workflow chairside, from scan to design to production in three easy steps:

1. Capture a scan with an iTero™ intraoral scanner.
2. Design on a dedicated workstation.
3. Produce in-house using a compatible 3D printer¹ or milling machine.²

Dr. Efrat Labzovsky, from the Align Clinical Education team, shares how to get started with iTero™ Design Suite. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/iTero_YouTube-Simplify

¹ iTero Design Suite integrates with 3D Systems NextDent, ASIGA, DEKEMA, Desktop HealthTM, Formlabs GmbH, Phrozen 3D, SprintRay, Way2Production GmbH, Kulzer Cara, Ackuretta, WhipMix, DWS, HeyGears, Microlay, MiiCraft, nexa3D, Planmeca, Prusa Medical, rapidshape, UNIZ, Shining 3D, Mogassam, carima, DMG, Dreve, HUVITZ / Lilivis, RAY medical. ² iTero Design Suite supports milling units from Amann Girrbach, Ray medical and milling machines using MillBox software as a required connector.

Designing in-house starts with getting the right data at the right time.

For practices looking to bring digital design in-house, the iTero-exocad Connector™ is built to make that transition straightforward. Once a scan is captured, the information flows directly into exocad™ software, giving the design team everything they need to get started:

– Scans arrive directly into exocad software, cutting out extra steps between capture and design.¹
– Designs can be reviewed and approved, or sent back with feedback before moving to production.
– iTero™ NIRI technology (Near Infra-Red Imaging) brings enamel and dentin structure into view, supporting more aesthetic anterior restorations.

On average, teams using the iTero-exocad Connector™ report saving 4.5 minutes per case.²

A recent case study from Dr. Diana Tadros paints a full picture, following a complex aesthetic rehabilitation from initial scan through to final restoration. Read the full case study: https://bit.ly/iTero_Chairside-Aesthetic-Rehab

A wider field of view means fewer passes and a faster path to treatment.

The iTero™ Lumina scanner's 3× larger field of view¹ captures more surface area in a single pass, supporting scans up to 2× faster² than previous systems, without compromising on accuracy.³ For Invisalign® providers like Optimal Dental Health, that efficiency can translate into fewer appointments and a smoother journey for the patient.

This clip from Dr. Ilan Preiss shows that precision at work. What has moving to digital scanning changed about your own treatment planning? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Level up your workflows by getting more out of your iTero Lumina™ scanner.

Photogrammetry has long been considered the gold standard for complex, full-arch implant restorations. It’s renowned for its exceptional accuracy, but generally requires a significant additional investment alongside your existing intraoral scanner.

The scientific study from Dr. Mangano published in the Journal of Dentistry, demonstrated that the iTero Lumina™ scanner performs within the accuracy threshold of photogrammetry for full-arch restorations.¹ That means the precision once reserved for specialist equipment may already be within reach, with the scanner that already has the seat of honor in your practice.

For those who want to go deeper into the science behind full-arch implant scanning, Dr. Francesco Mangano explores the comparison between photogrammetry technologies and direct intraoral scanning in detail in his latest lecture. Watch it here: https://bit.ly/iTero_YouTube-IOS
