Regional Sales Manager Efren Bonal recently hosted The American Institute of Architects Institute of Architects (AIA) accredited Continuing Education course, “The Benefits of Sliding and Pocket Doors,” for the team at Mirador Group in Houston, TX.

With 25+ years of award-winning commercial and high-end residential experience, the Mirador team understands that great design is in the details, and that includes the components you don’t always see.

During the session, the team explored:

• Hardware options that bring both function and style

Regional Sales Manager Efren Bonal recently joined superintendent Brandon Flores, Joshua Helm, and the Texas Best Construction - Barndominium Builder crew on-site for a pocket door frame assembly and CS Dual Action SofStop soft-close setup for Desmond Bane’s dream sports barndominium.

From assembling the extruded aluminum frame, measuring the jambs to be square, to installing the soft-close mechanism, this team got the full experience.

Builders never stop impressing us.

Regional Sales Manager Efren Bonal visited this Westlake Quail Hollow project in Fort Worth, TX, and found something worth sharing.

Mike Kerr with Veranda Luxury Custom Homes set up the CS SofStop Dual Action soft-close mechanism using a temporary 2x6 wood placeholder before the doors arrive. The placeholder holds the carriages and plates in position, prevents hardware from getting lost during construction, and lets the crew swap in the actual door when it's ready.

He also raised the pocket to account for the flooring that's going in. When the finished floor is installed, the door height stays exactly where it needs to be. No compromises on door size, no rework after the floor goes down.
