The Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force presents the 7th Annual Crime and Gang Prevention Summit on Saturday, February 28th from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant High School. Youth and families are all welcomed to join this free event. The summit will feature informational workshops, a community resource fair, children's activities, and a free lunch for participants. Workshop topics include: Gang 102 & A Way Out, Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force: Proving It Works, We're All In It Together: Servicing Our Youth & Families, The Power of Multi-Media (Youth Voice Initiative & Youth Digital Arts), and Re-Entry: The Process of Coming Home. Fabian Debora, a counselor and mentor with Homeboy Industries will discuss the importance of finding employment and job training skills for our youth as part of the keynote address.
