Feeling the burn and loving every minute of it!

Hill Repeats:
* Find a trail or section of your hike that includes a significant incline.
* Hike up the hill at a brisk pace, pushing yourself to maintain a steady rhythm.
* Once you reach the top, take a short break to catch your breath.
* Turn around and hike back down at a comfortable pace.
* Repeat the process, aiming to complete 4 to 6 hill repeats in total.
Interval Training:
* Choose a trail with a mix of flat and hilly sections.
* Alternate between periods of intense effort and active recovery.
* For example, hike at a fast pace for 2 minutes, then slow down to a moderate pace for 1 minute as your active recovery.
* Repeat this cycle for a desired duration or distance.
* Adjust the intensity and duration of each interval based on your fitness level and the terrain.
Weighted Backpack Hike:
* Load a backpack with some additional weight, such as water bottles or sandbags.
* Start your hike and maintain a steady pace, focusing on good posture and engaging your core.
* The added weight will increase the intensity of your hike and provide a strength and endurance challenge.
* Start with a manageable amount of weight and gradually increase it over time as your fitness improves.
Speed Hiking:
* Choose a trail or section of your hike with a relatively flat terrain.
* Challenge yourself to hike at a fast and consistent pace.
* Monitor your speed and aim to maintain a brisk pace throughout the hike.
* Set goals for time or distance and gradually increase your speed over time.
Steep Descent Control:
* Find a trail with a steep descent or downhill section.
* Practice controlled hiking as you descend, focusing on your foot placement, balance, and stability.
* Take small steps, lean slightly forward, and engage your core and leg muscles to maintain control.
* Slow down your pace and use your hiking poles if available to assist with balance and stability.
* This workout helps improve your balance, leg strength, and overall hiking technique.

Creamy Gazpacho Recipe
Ingredients:
3 lb. (6 medium) ripe tomatoes, cored
1 small cucumber, peeled, halved, seeded
1 medium green bell pepper
1 small red onion
2 medium garlic cloves
1 small Serrano chili
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp. parsley, finely minced
Directions:
* Cut 1 lb. tomatoes, half of cucumber, and half of bell pepper into 4 inch dice; place veggies in medium bowl. Mince half onion and add to diced veggies. Toss with 2 tsp. sea salt and transfer to fine mesh strainer set over medium bowl. Set aside for 1 hour.
* The remaining veggies will be pureed, so a rough chop is all they need. Chop remaining 2 lb. of tomatoes, half of cucumber, half of bell pepper, and half of onion and place in large bowl. Add garlic, chili, and 12 tsp. sea salt. Toss until well combined. Set aside.
* Transfer drained 4 inch veggies to medium bowl and set aside. Reserve liquid.
* Transfer half of roughly chopped veggies into a blender and add reserved liquid from diced
* veggies and process for about 30 seconds.
* With blender running, slowly drizzle half of the olive oil and continue to blend until completely smooth (about 2 minutes). Strain soup through fine mesh strainer into large bowl, using back of ladle or rubber spatula to press soup through strainer. Repeat with remaining vegetable blend mixture and remaining olive oil.
* Stir in vinegar, minced herb, and half of diced veggies into soup and season to taste with sea salt and black pepper. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least two hours to chill completely and develop flavors. Serve, passing remaining diced veggies, olive oil, red wine vinegar and peppers separately.
