Freedoms Pulse Bodywork

Freedoms Pulse Bodywork I'm Cait, founder of Freedoms Pulse Bodywork.

Inspired by my horse Gracie and my own healing journey, I use PEMF and myofascial release to help horses find lasting relief, improved movement, and a deeper, more connected partnership with their owners.

It's not uncommon for the other horses in the barn to notice when I'm there. I think the horses I work on tell their friends how much they enjoy their sessions.

Have you ever noticed your horse being interested in bodywork?

Running between the ribs are long, narrow muscles known as the intercostales. These muscles help the horse breathe and aid in the flexibility and movement of the rib cage.
The intercostales are a double layer of muscle. The external intercostales help the horse breathe in (inspiration) by pulling the ribs cranially (upward and forward), while the internal intercostales help the horse breathe out (expiration). Together, these muscles help expand and contract the rib cage while the horse breathes, as well as help them move laterally.
It is not uncommon for horses who gallop a lot, like race horses and cross-country horses, or horses who do a lot of lateral movement and lifting through their back, to become tense, stiff feeling or even sore through their rib cage area.
By slowly coming in with MFR to help release the fascia and then charging up the cells with PEMF, we can really bring relief and increase the range of motion in the horse’s rib cage. This can help them feel better and allow them to take a fuller, deeper breath. It can also help them move more freely throughout their midsection and mid-back.

Has your horse ever had rib cage work? Have you? What did you think?

It may look like he's looking for a candy but really he is asking nicely for something else ......

There are a lot of acupressure points in the horses mouth that can release tension stored in the jaw and head all the way down to the base of their tail. By gently cupping my thumb and pointer finger on some of those spots I can facilitate that release. The horses will let my hand stay in their mouth as long as they want. Licking and chewing, processing and releasing. This can be extremely emotional for some horses so I always make sure to take my time. This guy tried to hide his big release after we were done but I got a little bit of it.

Have you ever had this done on your horse?

If you are someone who enjoys long trail rides through the hills, someone who loves to jump their horse or someone who is working your way up the dressage levels it's important to not forget horses can carry a lot of tension in their shoulders.

Remembering to have bodywork done there as well as gentle stretching can improve the horses comfort and level of performance.

Helping horses feel their best. That's the best part of my day.

I started my Equine Bodywork business because I saw owners looking for answers. For support when it came to what to do and how to support their horse. How to keep them feeling their best and performing at the top. It can be overwhelming to know who to listen to. What is the best thing to do? When and how do you do that?

So I decided to dive into the equine world even more and learn all I could to support the horse owners in my area. It's an ongoing adventure. I've learned how to use PEMF to help animals and people through Pulse Certified. I've also learned how to support the equine body and myofascial system through Myofascial Release by attending Freely Forward Body Equine Massage Certification Course. Adding those certifications to my existing knowledge has been a blessing.
To help owners help their horse feel their best. So every ride can be enjoyable and every show season memorable. That's what I do.

If you are searching for the missing piece in your horse's wellness puzzle, give an equine bodywork session a try. You won't regret it. ❤️

When I started learning Equine Myofascial Release I shared what I was learning with my kids. Grayson really enjoyed learning how to help horses feel better.

I shared this with to encourage her and thank her for making a great introductory class.

Fast forward a couple of years........I've completed and graduated from the Equine Myofascial Release Massage course Freely Forward Bodywork now has.

Now, I'm not only able to teach more to my kids but I'm able to teach owners how to keep their horse comfortable and happy between their sessions.

If you're a current client and would like to schedule a 1-1 session where I show you some safe techniques for your horse reach out today.

If you aren't yet a client but have been thinking of setting up a session, give me a call!

Horses can tell us a lot without using words, if we just learn how to listen.

Bracing one direction, struggling at the canter, refusing jumps, pinning their ears, can all be their way of communicating discomfort.
Equine Bodywork isn't just about helping a horse recover, its about listening to the horse. In every session I take time to listen to what the horse is telling me.

Helping horses to feel better.
Helping horse and riders have a better connection and better ride.
Helping to restore the FREEDOM to feel their best.

If you think your horse might be struggling and not feeling totally comfortable in their body, reach out today!
