Big news 👀

We’ll soon be introducing a new counseling intern to our team!

Working with a graduate intern means receiving support from a clinician trained in the latest research and therapeutic approaches, while also benefiting from ongoing supervision and consultation from experienced professionals.

It’s a great opportunity to access quality care while helping shape the next generation of therapists.

As an added benefit, sessions with our counseling intern will be offered at a reduced rate, making therapy more accessible for those seeking support.

Full introduction coming soon!

🎙️Talk About it Tuesday 🧠
Are you thriving… or just surviving?

A lot of high performers don’t struggle with doing more, they struggle with doing less.

Because saying yes isn’t always about wanting to help. Sometimes it’s about avoiding guilt, fear of failure, disappointing others, or feeling like you have to keep proving yourself.

This week, before automatically saying yes, ask yourself: do I actually have the capacity for this? … and give yourself some time to make the decision.

🎙️Talk About it Tuesday 🧠

Are you thriving… or just surviving?

Discipline can be a healthy thing: structure, consistency, follow-through.
But sometimes what looks like discipline on the outside is actually control underneath.

Real discipline has flexibility.
Control feels rigid.

For a lot of high performers, that pressure isn’t just about goals, it’s about fear. Fear of falling behind, losing progress, or not feeling like enough without constant productivity.

And while it may still look successful from the outside… internally, it can feel exhausting if this is happening long-term.

This week, pay attention to where you feel flexible versus where you feel rigid. That difference matters more than you think 💭

An eventful day filled with spreading joy, seeing clients, and connecting with other mental health professionals ✨

Therapy Thursday this week included greeting Firelands School of Nursimg students before their finals, holding therapy sessions for seven clients, and attending the Community Pour networking engagement. I love a dynamic workday 🤩

Today I welcomed Emily and Michael Werner to my abnormal psychology class to tell their lived experiences with substance use, mental health, and recovery.

Their willingness to speak openly about the realities of addiction - and the ongoing process of healing - brought depth, honesty, and humanity into the classroom in a way no textbook ever could.

Moments like this remind us that behind every diagnosis is a story, and behind every story is resilience, complexity, and the capacity for change.

Grateful for their vulnerability, and for the opportunity my students had to listen, learn, and connect beyond theory. And grateful to have such wonderful people in my life! If you’re not familiar with their nonprofit Talking Back Ohio, be sure to check them out 💜👊🏼

🎙️ Talk About it Tuesday 🧠

Are you thriving… or just surviving?

For high performers, slowing down isn’t always the relief people think it is. It can actually feel uncomfortable.

When you’re used to constant movement, your mind fills the silence with pressure:
what am I forgetting?
what should I be doing?
I could be using this time better. 😰

Over time, productivity stops being something you do… and starts becoming how you measure your worth. Productivity should feel good, but so should stillness ❗️

So it’s not that you don’t want rest,
it’s that your system hasn’t fully learned how to tolerate it yet.

Start small this week: slow one thing down and notice what comes up.

Introducing our new series for high performers : Are you thriving… or just surviving?

From the outside, high-functioning anxiety can look like success - productive, reliable, always on top of things.
But internally, it can feel like constant pressure, overthinking, and never fully being able to shut it off.

When your mind is always on “what’s next,” even rest can feel uncomfortable… We need to build a tolerance to that discomfort.

Not all productivity is coming from intention; sometimes it’s coming from anxiety.

If this resonates, you’re not alone - and we’re diving deeper into this all series long 🥳
