The Conclusion — When a Guest Becomes Family 💗

And just like that…20 days came and went.

When Julie arrived, I had no idea how these weeks would bring: ceremonies, conversations, spiritual growth, reflection, adventure, some tears and so much laughter.

She didn’t just stay with us…she immersed herself in our life. We loved her…and well, D put up with the shared bathroom. 🤣 Our pets definitely loved her. 🐾

Between the Full Moon, Sacred Wheel, New Moon, spiritual conversations, painting, herbal hair tonics, gardening, making dinner, Cedar Point and all the little adventures in between…she became family.

Some of what we’ll remember most weren’t the ceremonies or big spiritual moments, but the small details..

Walking into the kitchen to find the dishes already put away.

Finding the kettle filled.

Seeing something that needed to be done and quietly doing it.

Helping our home keep moving on busy days.

These gestures may seem insignificant, but they weren’t. There is a special kind of love in noticing where someone could use a hand and stepping in without being asked.

Maybe that was one of the greatest lessons of these 20 days:

Spirituality isn’t only found in ceremony.

It’s also in putting away dishes, filling the kettle, loving someone’s animals, sitting on the porch, and making another person’s day a little lighter.

That is service.

That is presence.

That is love in action.

Sometimes God places people in our path not because we have something to accomplish together, but because we are meant to experience the blessing of knowing one another.

We opened our home.

Julie brought her whole self into it.

And somewhere along the way, the line between guest and family disappeared.

Our lives intertwined, and what a blessing that was.

I’m learning to pay attention to the people who arrive, the conversations that feel perfectly timed, the friendships that feel strangely familiar and the people who bring peace into our home. And the swirl 🌀

Sometimes divine timing doesn’t arrive with a grand announcement.

Sometimes it walks through your front door with a suitcase. 💗

Julie, thank you for sharing your wisdom, art, spirituality, laughter, help, heart and time with us.

Thank you for loving our crazy little family….and all the animals even the shed monster that came with it. 🦨🤣

Thank you for becoming part of the rhythm of our home and reminding me that life’s most sacred moments often look ordinary while they’re happening.

We are so grateful and blessed to have shared these 20 days with you.

This wasn’t goodbye.

It was simply…until you return. 🌿✨💗

And when you do, don’t worry…We’ll leave the kettle for you. 😂☕️

20 Days with the Traveling Art Mystic 🌿✨

Part 4 New Moon: Intention Into Action 🌑🔥

The Full Moon asked us to cull.

The Sacred Wheel asked me to find clarity and step into my power.

Then came the New Moon, carrying a different question:

What will you do with the space you’ve created?

We gathered at Humble Gardens, surrounded by earth, trees, fire, friends and a 2 curious emus. 🫐

Julie guided us through another evening of reflection and intention, but this ceremony felt different.

We weren’t only being asked what we wanted to release.
We were being asked what we wanted to cultivate.
What am I ready to welcome into my life and willing to nurture?

And most importantly:

What bold step will I take before the next Full Moon?

My intention was simple.
I wanted more spiritual time in my everyday life.

Not only during ceremonies or church.
Or when life feels difficult and when I need an answer.

I wanted to create intentional space to connect with God…to reflect, listen, pray, learn and simply be grateful.

So that became my bold step.

Since that New Moon, I’ve participated in a Spiritual Power Hour almost every day.

And that consistency has changed something in me.
Sometimes it looks like prayer.
Sometimes reflection, reading or journaling and discussions.
Sometimes it’s sitting quietly and asking where I’m being guided next.

And sometimes, it’s simply pausing long enough to realize:
Look at this life.
Not the life I’m hoping to create someday.
The life we are living right now.
There is so much I once prayed for that I sometimes forget I’m already standing in it.

That realization keeps bringing me back to one word:

Gratitude

Gratitude for my husband son and family.
For friendships that arrive at exactly the right time.
For our home, the garden, the animals and the land beneath our feet and work I get to do.
For the people God continues to place in my path.
For the lessons that made no sense while I was living through them, but somehow helped shape the woman standing here today.
And even for the things still unfinished.
Because I’m learning that unfinished doesn’t mean we’re behind.
Sometimes we’re simply in the middle of becoming.

During our New Moon ceremony, we gathered around the fire, prayed and reflected, cleansed our hands in water and essential oils.

There is something powerful about fire. It transforms. What enters it never returns in quite the same form.

Standing there that night felt like another reminder of everything Julie had been teaching me:

Cull and Cultivate
Wisdom Flow Trust Time Witness Release Nuture

And then…

Act

Because intention without action remains only an idea.

Now, another Full Moon is upon us, and I’m looking back at the intention I wrote during that New Moon and realizing:

I kept my promise to myself

Not perfectly

But consistently

I made the space

And in making space for God and Spirit, I realized…
Maybe that’s what these cycles are teaching me.

We release…make space…set an intention then take one bold step.

Then we return again… not as the exact same person who began the cycle, but as someone who has experienced a little more, learned a little more and awakened a little more deeply.

As this Full Moon approaches, I don’t feel the need to ask for more.

Right now, I mostly want to say:

Thank you.

For what has been and what is and for everything still becoming.

Sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t receiving something new.

It’s finally recognizing the sacredness of what is already here. 💗✨🌿

20 Days with the Traveling Art Mystic 🌿✨

Part 3 — The Sacred Wheel: Clarity

Some lessons don’t give you an answer.

They teach you a different way to ask the question.

During Julie’s time here, she taught me how she uses the Sacred Wheel as a way of approaching life…not just when things are difficult, but when we are searching for clarity, direction or trying to understand where we are in a season of our lives.

Four directions and stages. Different perspectives of the same whole.

South — the child.
Infancy, The body, Earth, Innocence, curiosity, action and beginning.

West — adolescence.
Emotion, Water, Movement, Feeling, questioning, experiencing and learning to navigate the intensity of becoming.

North — the adult.
Spirit Air Intellect, responsibility, patience, strength and the ability to step back and see the larger picture.

East — the Wise One.
Fire Wisdom Perspective The place where experience becomes understanding and we begin to see beyond ourselves.

And then there is the center.

The place where all of those parts of us meet.

Body 🌿Mind 💗Heart ✨Spirit

Julie had me approach the wheel with a question:

How do I step more fully into my power with clarity.

We pulled cards examined the pictures and read the meaning and definition of the cards. With journal prompts it led me to think deeper and write my thoughts to paper.

I moved through each direction and allowed myself to look at the question from places within me I don’t normally think to visit.

And what amazes me looking back is that throughout Julie’s entire visit, the messages kept repeating themselves in different ways.

**Wisdom, Flow, Trust, Time **
Witness and Release

Not force

Not hurry

Not figure everything out right now- Time

That one keeps coming back to me

There is a time to be the child and wonder

A time to feel everything and move through the emotion.

A time to become the adult, stand steady and use what we’ve learned.

And a time to become the Wise One—to witness, listen and understand that perhaps not everything needs our reaction.

Some things need our patience.

Some things lead to forgiveness.

Some things need to be released.

And some things simply need time.

The wheel also helped me understand something about stepping into my power that I hadn’t considered before.

Maybe power isn’t always pushing forward.

Maybe sometimes power is trusting.

Allowing.

Witnessing.

Knowing when to act and knowing when to wait.

Knowing when to cull what has completed its season and when to cultivate what is trying to grow.

And trusting that each direction has something to teach us before we move to the next.

Nature has become another way for me to notice His creation and the rhythms already surrounding us….the moon, seasons, plants, water, birth, growth, death and renewal.

Nothing in nature stays in one season forever.

Why would we expect ourselves to?

Maybe spiritual awakening isn’t about becoming someone entirely new.

Maybe part of it is remembering all the versions of ourselves that brought us here…..the child, the adolescent, the adult and the Wise One we are still becoming…and allowing each one to have a seat at the table.

**Wisdom Flow Trust Time Witness Release **

I thought I was asking how to step into my power.

Maybe I was learning that I already had it. I just needed the clarity to recognize it. 💗🌿✨

20 Days with the Traveling Art Mystic 💗🌿✨

Part 2 Cull & Cultivate 🌕

Our Full Moon Ceremony wasn’t a large gathering.

It was just a small circle of people who somehow all arrived exactly where we were meant to be that evening.

There was a quiet intentionality to it…like the night itself had been gently arranged for something more personal, and sacred.

Julie guided us into a space of intention and reflection, introducing the practice of culling and cultivating.

At first, the words felt simple. Almost too simple.

But as she spoke, they began to open something deeper within us.

Cull what no longer serves.

The old stories we keep repeating.
The fear that tightens without warning.
The hurt we’ve learned to normalize.
The guilt we carry longer than we should.
The expectations that were never truly ours.
All the things that have simply outgrown their season.

And then………pause.

Because what comes next asked for honesty.

Cultivate.

What do I want to nurture now?
What deserves my attention, my energy, my care?
What is life and spirit inviting me to make space for?

We gathered in the patio shared some Rosemary, Vanilla, and Lemon Mocktails….So good!! 😊🌿 Simple Breath-work incorporating Adaptive and Frankincense oils, letting their grounding presence settle into the room and within us. Conversation unfolded slowly, naturally. No pressure. Just presence.

And something subtle began to shift.

In that small circle, connection formed without effort. Walls softened. Laughter surfaced in unexpected places. Vulnerability didn’t feel forced, it felt safe.

It was as if, in the act of releasing, we were also remembering something deeper about ourselves and each other, we are all human and connected through nature!

For me, it all circled back to something universal.

To the quiet truth that beneath all names, all traditions, all paths we are all reaching for the same light.

Call it God, Spirit, Source…Call it Love.

Different languages, same longing.

A desire to live with meaning. To love and be loved fully. To forgive freely. To step into that power.

That night, I felt how close we actually are when we stop focusing on what separates us and instead honor what connects us.

Forgiveness, too, felt universal.

Not as forgetting, but as release. As courage. A return to peace. 💗

Maybe culling isn’t about denying the past.

Maybe it’s about honoring what it taught us, releasing what we no longer need to carry, and trusting that we are all being guided….each in our own way…toward something greater than ourselves.

Because when our hands stay full of what was, they cannot receive what is still coming. And that realization felt like breath returning to a place that had been held too long. 🙏🏻

Cull what has completed its season.
Cultivate what is being placed before you.
Trust the unseen unfolding of your path. 🌱

That night didn’t feel like an ending.

It felt like a swirl when oil and water come together when you shake it up….it still works even in the chaos and when you add vinegar spices and oil you make a very delicious dressing.

There was something in that small gathering that defies easy explanation….divine timing, new friendships forming in real time, inspiration sparking quietly between conversations. A sense that we were exactly where we were meant to be, without needing to define it.

We came together to release what no longer served us.

That beneath all our differences, we are not as separate as we think.

We are all learning. All growing. All remembering how to return to love.

And maybe that is the rhythm of it all.

Release… Rest.. Receive.. Grow..

Just like nature Just like the moon
Just like the seasons within us

🌕 **Cull & Cultivate **

Making room-softly, intentionally….for whatever is unfolding next. 🤍🌿✨

20 Days with the Traveling Art Mystic 🌿✨

Part 1 -Julie Arrived…

What happens when your artist/Shaman friend from Seattle comes to Ohio to stay at your house for 20 days?

Apparently…a LOT. 🤣💗

Julie, The Traveling Art Mystic…came to stay with us with a pretty simple plan…spend some time together, experience a little Ohio life, and paint an incredible mural on our backyard fence.

What I didn’t know was how much life we were about to fit into those 20 days.

Almost immediately, we were off.

We explored the lake, went to Cedar Point, laughed…a lot…shared meals, cooked together, worked events together and welcomed our friend Christopher for the weekend.

And somewhere between all of the plans were the moments that weren’t planned at all.

Morning conversations that turned into afternoon deep discussions. Garden tending and harvesting.
Prince, TJ and Jack deciding Julie belonged to them. 😂
Talking about life, family, wellness, spirituality, purpose and what we’re each being called toward next.

The mural slowly started taking shape on the fence, but looking back, I think something was beginning to take shape in me too…the swirl…🌀

I knew Julie as my friend and as an incredible artist.

Over these 20 days, I would begin to know another part of her. The Shaman, the teacher, and the woman who sees lessons in nature, cycles, directions and the world around us.

And I didn’t realize yet how much that was going to make me look at my own life differently.

These pictures are from the beginning, before the ceremonies, the start of some pretty incredible conversations, new friendships being made, and before Ohio weather decided the mural wasn’t going to get finished this trip. 😂🌧️

We thought she came to paint a fence.

Turns out, that was only part of the story.

First days of a very unexpected 20-day journey. 💗✨🌿

More to come…
