Beneath our physical exterior are deep roots—threads of memory, emotion, and experience that extend beyond our individual stories. These roots shape who we are, guide us through the world, and give us a sense of connection to our heritage. But they can also form blockages or subconscious patterns, often carrying ingrained experiences from prior generations that we continue to relive and pass along. Perhaps you recognize a profound sense that something is part of you, even though you can’t recall when, where, or why it began. This is where Family Constellations work can reveal such hidden patterns and begin to release what is quietly holding us back.

Next weekend, we are honored to welcome Elaine Almeida, LMFT, for an experiential Family Constellations program, exploring the roots of repeating patterns, emotional blocks, and family dynamics while creating space for greater clarity, choice, and new possibilities. In a constellation, we step into a kind of living map of our lineage. Representatives stand in for family members, revealing dynamics that may have been hidden, unspoken, or simply misunderstood. What emerges is often simple but profound: a clearer sense of where certain feelings or behaviors originated, and a deeper compassion for the people who came before us.

The past may shape us, but it does not have to define what comes next. When we tend to our roots, we nurture all that continues to support us, and compassionately release what is not ours to carry. What has felt heavy may begin to soften, and we make room for greater ease and understanding. When we bravely step into healing our past, it not only helps us better move forward, it also heals all who came before us, a tremendous honoring of our ancestors.

We welcome you into the studio – in all the ways you may tend to your heart, your mind, your body, your soul.

What would it feel like to spend one day tracking nothing and simply noticing?

I have been thinking lately about all the devices we now use to track ourselves.

The Oura Ring. The Fitbit. The glucose monitor. Blood oxygen levels. Sleep scores. HRV. A friend told me recently that she woke up at 3 am to check her sleep data and couldn't get back to sleep worrying about it.

In our somatic practice, we have always used different tracking devices like breath, pulse, quality of attention, and the thoughts we tell ourselves.

This is old technology, designed thousands of years ago, and it does something no wearable can. It brings you into contact with what cannot be calculated.

Yoga ultimately asks us to connect to something immeasurable. Not to make the life force better, but to cherish it as it is.
