The goal was never just straight teeth. It was a mouth that closes, a nose that breathes, and a child who grows into their full potential. 🧵

Releasing a tongue-tie opens the door. Expansion builds the room behind it — gently widening the upper arch so the tongue has a place to rest, the teeth have space to grow, and the airway finally opens up.

That’s when parents start saying the simple things:ā€Øā€œShe sleeps through the night now.ā€ā€Øā€œHis mouth stays closed.ā€ā€Øā€œShe just seems… calmer.ā€

Not a coincidence. That’s a body finally getting the space to breathe and rest.

Straight teeth are the byproduct. Space is the goal.

We treated the tongue tie—so why is your child still snoring, grinding, and waking up tired?

Because releasing the tie is only half the story. 🧵

Crowded teeth aren’t a ā€œthey’ll grow into itā€ problem. Teeth crowd because the jaw is too small to hold them—and a jaw that’s too small usually means a palate that’s too narrow.

Here’s what most people miss: the roof of the mouth is also the floor of the nose. Every millimeter the upper arch is too narrow is a millimeter the nasal airway is too tight. So breathing works harder—day and night.

At night, that shows up as:
→ Snoring in a small child
→ Grinding teeth
→ Tossing, sweating, waking
→ Never feeling truly rested
Sleep is when kids grow, heal, and regulate. A crowded airway quietly steals from all of it.

This is why ā€œspaceā€ isn’t cosmetic. It’s how a child breathes, sleeps, and grows into their full potential. Straightening teeth later doesn’t change the size of the foundation—the space has to come first.

A narrow palate isn’t just a dental problem. It’s an airway problem wearing a dental disguise.

Apologies for the hypersensitive gag reflex šŸ‘…

ā˜¹ļøBut also, I know some of you will feel like I’m coming directly for you. This is not ALL course teachers or social media healthcare influencers..but it is A LOT of them!

Sorry not sorry. There is no place for ego in medicine. We are here to make healthcare better and make people healthier, not feed your bank account and ego. I am all for having to pay our bills and keep the lights on but there’s a difference between that and being a sell out especially when you are preaching something other than what you practice! It just continues to keep holistic medicine, especially tongue tie frenectomy with therapy/IBCLC team approach, in the stone ages!

You chose a profession where you have a due diligence to treat patients with compassion, care, and skill! Use it!

Have yall experienced this too? šŸ™„

Your baby’s tongue tie was never just about feeding. 🧵

It was the first clue.

Here’s what most parents are never told: the tongue is a natural expander. When it can rest high against the roof of the mouth, it shapes the palate wide and open — the way it’s supposed to grow.

When it can’t, the palate grows narrow and high. And because the roof of the mouth is also the floor of the nose, that narrow shape leaves less room for air. So the body adapts the only way it can — it breathes through the mouth.

That’s when parents start noticing things they’d never connect to a tie:ā€ØšŸ‘„ A mouth that’s always openā€ØšŸ˜“ Restless, noisy sleepā€ØšŸŒ™ Dark circles and ā€œallergy faceā€ā€ØšŸ¦· Crowded baby teeth

Different symptoms. Same root cause — not enough room in a face that was built to have more.

The tie was the first clue. The shape of the mouth is where the real story unfolds.

Follow along — there’s more to this than anyone tells you. šŸ‘€

Hard truths, airway dentist edition. 🦷

The stuff we don’t always say out loud — because it’s easier to hand you a night guard than to explain why you’re grinding in the first place.

But you deserve the real version:
→ You didn’t grow out of it. What’s happening in your mouth became the blueprint your body built around.

→ Teeth grinding isn’t just stress. Stress explains a bad week, not ten years of every single night.

→ ā€œAlways tiredā€ isn’t who you are. It’s what happens when your body never fully rests.

→ Snoring isn’t your partner’s problem to sleep through. It’s a sign your airway is working overtime.

→ The night guard isn’t treating anything. It’s protecting your teeth from a grind that shouldn’t be happening at all.

None of this means something’s wrong with you. It means the root cause was never addressed — and that’s fixable.

If you’ve been collecting explanations for years without answers, that’s the part worth looking at.
