Stronger glutes. Better support for your low back. ๐Ÿ’š

Glute bridges can help ease low back pain while building strong glutes to support you for the long haul. But how you position your hips and lower back matters!

Before lifting, gently tuck your pelvis and engage your core. Then squeeze your glutes and slowly raise your hips, keeping that gentle tuck as you lift.

๐Ÿ‘€ You may notice you canโ€™t lift as high when you do it this way. Thatโ€™s okay! The goal is to feel your glutes working while your core keeps your lower back from overarching. Try it and feel the difference.
Higher doesnโ€™t mean better. You donโ€™t need extra height to make your glutes work!

Try these cues:
โœ… Feet flat and hip-width apart.
โœ… Gently tuck your pelvis, without forcing it.
โœ… Keep your core engaged and breathe.
โœ… Squeeze your glutes as you lift.
โœ… Stop before your lower back starts to overarch.
โœ… Keep your head relaxed on the mat and lower slowly.

Focus on feeling your glutes working while your core helps control the movement. Stronger glutes and better hip control can help support your low back during walking, climbing stairs, and lifting.
Try a slow rep with these cues and see how it feels. Work within a comfortable range, and stop if your back pain increases.

Better movement starts with awareness. ๐Ÿ’š

Small movement. Big difference in how your body moves. ๐Ÿ‘€

This is a pelvic tilt! Iโ€™m using a pelvis model alongside my own body so you can see what happens when I tuck and untuck my hips.

โžก๏ธ Untucking: Your pelvis tips forward, increasing the curve in your lower back. This is an anterior pelvic tilt.

โฌ…๏ธ Tucking: Your pelvis tips backward, reducing the curve in your lower back. This is a posterior pelvic tilt.

Watch my lower back closely as I tuck and untuck. See how the arch increases when my pelvis tips forward, then decreases when I tuck? My pelvis and lower back are moving together. That small shift in my hips changes the curve of my spine.

Both directions are a normal part of movement. The goal isnโ€™t to keep your pelvis tucked all day or force yourself into one โ€œperfectโ€ position. Itโ€™s to understand how your hips and lower back move together and learn to control that movement.

That awareness can help you notice what your body is doing during exercise, instead of guessing what a cue like โ€œtuck your hipsโ€ actually means.

This is part of what we teach with AbGlo: helping you connect what you see with what you feel. ๐Ÿ’š

This is a pelvis. And it plays a role in almost every move you make. ๐Ÿฆด

Your pelvis sits near the center of your body, connecting your spine to your legs. Every time you stand up, take a step, climb stairs, bend down, or lift something, it helps transfer force between your upper and lower body.

Its position matters, too. When your pelvis tilts forward or backward, the curve of your lower back changes with it. And when you walk, the muscles around your pelvis help keep you steady as your weight shifts from one leg to the other.

Thatโ€™s why I pay attention to the pelvis when someone comes to me with low back pain. I want to see how their hips, core, and lower back work together during the movements they do every day. It can offer clues about where they need more strength, control, or mobility.

Your pelvis does a lot for you. Learning how it moves is a great place to start understanding the rest of your body. ๐Ÿ’š

Ever sneeze, jump, run, or lift something and feel that little โ€œuh-ohโ€? Youโ€™re not alone. ๐Ÿ’š

Your pelvic floor muscles work like a hammock, supporting your bladder and urethra. When those muscles arenโ€™t strong or coordinated enough to respond to a sudden increase in pressure, the urethra may not stay closed and a little p*e can leak out.

Thatโ€™s why pelvic floor rehab matters. Itโ€™s about more than avoiding an awkward moment. Building strength and coordination can help you get back to the workouts, sports, and everyday activities you enjoy with more confidence.

If that sounds familiar, AbGlo can help you build core awareness and strength with real-time feedback, so you can move with more confidence. ๐Ÿ’š
