The broke the story of an alleged racial incident at Santa Barbara Junior High School which resulted in the Principal taking a week’s leave.

Is that the end?

What do you think?

Personally- this triggers the F&$k out of me because it sounds as though the principal couldn’t have handled this worse.

The email he wrote to parents is what we posted for you to see. It was sent to us to read.

broke the news of another racist incident in Santa Barbara - this one happening at the Santa Barbara Junior High.

Most people were informed of the incident by an email written to all parents after the principal returned from a one week leave.

Personally- I can’t imagine if such bad judgement was shown by the principal himself- the very person the entire SBJHS community looks to for leadership- this cannot and should not be the resolution.

So many of you have privately DM’ed me.

Here is the email he wrote. And the link to the Indy’s article is in our bio.

Come on Santa Barbara- do better. Do so much much much better and don’t tolerate these situations.

Follow and PLEASE let us know in comments what you think. ⬇️

I’ll never understand how people think they can tell a woman she HAS to grow a baby in her body if she doesn’t want to. Agree? Then VOTE in November. And be heard at De la Guerra Plaza. 5pm.

KETANJI is officially in the hot seat.

Make no mistake- history is being written.

If confirmed, KBJ will be making rulings on issues that once began locally in towns just like Santa Barbara.

So far, she’s the epitome of grace under fire.

We are watching.

And we are routing for her.

Now it’s YOUR turn…

Friend, I know you want to give input. So here’s your chance to give some.

Police oversight remains a central issue in Santa Barbara -from junior high school to adulthood. (Yes- I said jr high school. 😥)

Scan the QR code and take the Community Formation Comission’s survey.

They worked SO hard on this for YOUR benefit.

Give them feedback. They are asking you for it!

Follow for local SB issues!

February is Black History Month.

We will be posting all month: events to participate in, local black leaders to recognize, IG accounts to follow, books to read, local black-owned businesses to shop at, and facts you didn’t know.

February is only one month of the year. When February is over we don’t stop.

Please save and share these posts. Use your platform thoughtfully to amplify.

Local organizers Jordan Killebrew and Cliff Solomon want everyone to know:

In celebration of the historical achievements of Black/African American’s for our country, Black/African-American led organizations continue the tradition of coming together to provide events for Black History Month (BHM) in February and year-round in Santa Barbara County.

The 2022 theme of Black Joy & Legacy Through Family Health & Safety connects the events to uplifting the joy, accomplishments, challenges, and successes of local Black/African-American individuals.

Events in 2022 will be mostly virtual (online) with a handful in-person to accommodate guests' comfort level as we continue to navigate COVID-19 and the recent rise in cases. All organizations strive to be in-person but understand the necessity to provide an array of options for guests to participate and celebrate.

Community organizations include Healing Justice Santa Barbara, UCSB Multicultural Center (MCC), UCSB Hosford - The Healing Space, Gateway Educational Services, Santa Barbara Young Black Professionals, Santa Barbara Black Culture House, Coffee with a Black Guy, Endowment for Youth Committee, African American Women in Santa Barbara County, NAACP Santa Maria - Lompoc, Martin Luther King Jr. Committee of Santa Barbara, and Juneteenth Santa Barbara - which coordinates with all organizations.
