Good morning, hikers!

Today is our very first Motherhood in Motion hike, and we are so excited to be with you all, out in nature, moving gently, and connecting in this beautiful season of motherhood.

As you prepare for our time together, we invite you to nourish yourself well this morning.

A balanced breakfast will help support your energy, mood, and overall experience on the trail.

Some simple ideas:
✨ Eggs with avocado + toast
✨ Greek yogurt with fruit + nuts
✨ Oatmeal with protein (nuts, seeds, or protein powder)
✨ Smoothie with protein, healthy fats, and fiber

Try to include protein + healthy fat + fiber to keep your blood sugar steady.

Also, don’t forget:
Water (come well hydrated + bring some along)

We’ll meet at 9:45 am at Steven’s Park and begin walking at 10:00 am.

Come as you are. There is no rush, no expectation, just space to move, connect, and be held in community.

We truly can’t wait to share this first gathering with you.

Motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

We’re so excited to invite you into Motherhood in Motion, a bi-monthly hiking group for postpartum mothers here in Santa Barbara.

This is a space to get outside, move your body, and be held in real, honest conversation. Together, we’ll explore the tender and transformative layers of this season; integrating your birth story, navigating the waves of emotion, reconnecting with your body and sexuality, and finding balance between caring for yourself and your little one.

Led by a functional & integrative midwife and a perinatal psychologist, this is a space where both your physical and emotional experience of motherhood are supported.

Come as you are. Babies welcome. No pressure, just fresh air, connection, and community.

Such a loving way to help your little one feel better

For parents, touching your baby’s chubby little feet is just an instinct. It’s something you do because they are simply too gosh-darn cute for words. You can’t help yourself! However, it turns out that there may actually be another good excuse for tickling your little one’s tootsies. Did you...

Maiden to Mother.....

There is a phase in labor, appropriately called transition, where a woman will meet her breaking point. She'll feel as though she just can't go on, and she is right. The maiden in her is not strong enough for the task at hand. It's during this time the maiden dies so that the woman can be reborn as a mother, with her child. A new, more capable version of herself with far more strength than she has ever known. From Maiden to Mother.
