š¼ Herb of the Week: Cleavers (Galium aparine)
Thereās a reason cleavers shows up every spring.
Itās one of those plants that meets the body exactly where itās at this time of yearā
supporting movement, clearing stagnation, and helping things flow again š±
As Alicia Cielle Heiser shares in this blog:
āCleavers⦠help flush toxins and waste out of the body, while supporting the lymphatic system and relieving swollen glands and excess fluid.ā
This is why itās often used when the body feels:
ā heavy
ā sluggish
ā puffy
ā or just⦠a little stuck
What I love most about cleavers is that itās not harsh.
Itās gentle.
Nourishing.
A true spring ally.
Youāll often find it growing wildly along roadsides and in gardensāclinging to everything it touches (hence the name š)
And just like that⦠it reminds us:
šæ the plants we need are often already around us
If youāre curious how to actually work with this plantā
from teas to infusions and beyondā¦
