Thinking about a postbacc but not sure if it’s the right next step? 🩺

Fernanda Urrutia knows what it’s like to consider that next step. Her journey included three gap years and a master’s degree before applying to medical school. She would encourage prospective applicants to think about what they want to gain from the experience—stronger coursework, test preparation, clinical exposure, or a clearer sense of whether medicine is truly the right path.

Learning, practicing, and thinking about what’s next. 🩺💙

It was a full weekend of learning for our Premed Postbacc students at the Silicon Valley campus!

Students started the day with an interactive Stop the Bleed session led by the U.S. Army, where they learned practical skills that can help save a life in an emergency.

Later, Dean P.K. Agarwal led a thoughtful discussion about soft skills in healthcare and why communication, empathy, and human connection will be just as important as technology in the future of medicine.

A great weekend of hands-on learning, meaningful conversations, and preparation for the journey ahead!
