With the recent qualification of the Health Care Endangerment Act, organizations representing doctors, hospitals, community health clinics, and patients announced their strong opposition to a measure that would endanger patient care by forcing quality doctors, nurses, and health care leaders out of California.
“This irresponsible measure will erode quality care and strip access to care for millions,” said Dr. Rene Bravo, MD, President, California Medical Association. “It will drive physicians and health care leaders out of the state and deter caregivers from practicing in our communities when we are already struggling to meet Californians’ needs due to severe shortages of specialists. The result will be fewer doctors, longer wait times, and diminished quality of care for patients who are already facing barriers to access the services they need.”
