Thank you to Deb Haaland for visiting Presbyterian Española Hospital and taking time to learn about the work underway to improve health across Northern New Mexico. We were proud to share how we are expanding access to substance use treatment, bringing routine care, wellness visits and immunizations into communities through our mobile health centers and collaborating with local partners to address the unique needs of the region.

We appreciate the opportunity to highlight the dedication of our teams and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing rural healthcare.

❤️ Celebrating an extraordinary group of team members at Presbyterian Hospital!

Recently, Eric Friedrichs and his leadership team recognized 21 current members of the hospital's dietary services team who have each dedicated more than 10 years of service to Presbyterian. Together, these remarkable team members represent an incredible 469 years of combined experience supporting patients, caregivers and communities across New Mexico.
During the celebration, many shared why they continue to choose Presbyterian: our mission, the opportunity to help patients and the people they have the privilege to work alongside every day.

As Eric said, it's "humbling to have that much tenure within my group." And with 469 collective years of service within one department, it's hard to imagine a better way to describe it.

Thank you to these dedicated dietary team members for the compassion, commitment and service you bring to Presbyterian Hospital every day. 👏

It's and we're celebrating our wonderful advanced practice clinicians. Meet Ronda Niederhauser, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked at our St. Michael’s Primary Care Medical Group in Santa Fe for two years. In her role, Ronda integrates mental health into everyday medicine to elevate whole-person care.

Q: What drives your passion for practicing medicine as an APC?
A: I really enjoy working as a part of the primary care team, providing behavioral health and health psychology services in primary care.

Q: What is the number one question you are asked as an APC in your specialty?
A: “Can I see you long term?” The role of behavioral health consultants in primary care is to provide brief behavioral health assessments and interventions for patients and then help them get connected with longer-term behavioral health care in the community if needed. As a behavioral health consultant, I can continue to be available for new patients referred by their primary care providers and treatment teams.

Q: What personal strengths do you feel you bring to your current role?
A: My compassion, empathy and caring for others are strengths that help me to be there for others and support them through their healthcare journeys.

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: The best advice I was given is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

Thank you, Ronda, for caring for our patients and being at the heart of quality!

Recently, Albuquerque Ambulance Service hosted a community leaders tour to showcase how AAS supports our communities, responds to emergencies and partners with local governments to deliver critical care across Albuquerque, Bernalillo County and the surrounding region.

We were honored to welcome leaders from the legislature, Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS), Albuquerque Police Department, Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Bernalillo County Fire & Rescue. Strong partnerships are essential to ensuring our communities receive the emergency medical services they need when every second counts.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and commitment to the health and safety of New Mexicans. 🚑
