I walked into Urban Plates tonight fresh from a board meeting with my non-profit Adopt-A-Walk — energized, inspired, and honestly walking on clouds after such a fun, promising and productive session with our incredible team. 🌟

Then they handed me number 1.
I’m a numbers girl. I love when numbers line up. And in that moment, this simple little gesture made me stop and smile — because it felt like a sign.

We are a board united by one mission: to make a significant difference in people’s health in communities nationwide. And today, we showed up for that mission in a big way.

My friends made me pose for this photo because apparently I was too color coordinated — racket and all 😄

Guilty as charged. If you peek into my wardrobe, tons of sneakers and fitness clothes, not much else. It’s my profession and my passion!

Two years ago I started playing pickleball purely for the socializing — I’d always said “when pickleball comes to me, I’ll play” and it did!

I met my pickleball ladies at a community walk I organized at the FitExpo in Playa Vista, and so much community has grown from that little group. 🌸

Somewhere along the way I actually started loving the game itself! And yes, I might be the only one who insists on a proper warm-up 😂 — but my ladies know the drill. Because as we age, warming up isn’t optional — it’s how we keep playing for years to come. 💪

Why I love pickleball:

He showed up to our morning walk at the Playa Vista FitExpo ready to GO. Kept up with my pace the whole time, no complaints, just pure energy and curiosity. And then? He came back to find me at the Nordic Body booth — and picked up my book.

🎴 Last night with my poker ladies = living proof that play is serious business!

I caught a fascinating interview on LAist’s AirTalk yesterday with Piera Gelardi, author of The Playful Way. Her message? We’re living in a “play recession” — and it’s costing us more than we think.

As adults, we’re taught that play is frivolous, unserious, the opposite of work. But science says otherwise.

Play builds resilience, sparks creativity, deepens connections, and yes — even boosts our physical and mental health.

When we stop playing, we become less joyful, more burnt out, and more disconnected from the people around us.

Evenings like last night? That’s not just fun — that’s medicine. 💊✨

You’re NEVER too old to date! 🥰
Yesterday, between sets, my 95-year-old client shared the most delightful story with her workout buddy (90!) and me — a man spotted her at the doctor’s office, thought she looked interesting and happy, and asked her out! 😄
I mean… can we talk about this for a second?! 🙌
I absolutely had to share, and trust me — I’ll be keeping you posted on what happens next! 👀
