The therapeutic approach I use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is effective because of its emphasis on guided discovery. Instead of giving my clients the answers or the “fish,” I teach them how to fish by providing them with the tools to question their own thinking.
We’ll never rid ourselves completely of negative thoughts. Instead, we can learn how to deal with our thoughts more effectively, which allows us to take action in alignment with our values. This leads to a rich and fulfilling life - negative thoughts included :)
