How is a baby scratching themselves until they bleed… considered normal?

I’ve worked with families where parents had to physically restrain their child at night because the itching, inflammation, and discomfort were so severe that the child would claw at their own skin nonstop, even while on antihistamines and allergy medications.

What’s fascinating is that the fungal part of the microbiome, things like Candida and Aspergillus, appears to play a massive role in how the immune system develops tolerance. When that balance gets disrupted, especially from environmental exposures like mold, the immune system can become reactive to everything.

That’s why some kids continue struggling despite elimination diets, supplements, and constant medication changes. The root driver is still there.

There is SO much misunderstanding around how and why homes become contaminated.

To help shed some light, I had the pleasure of talking to Mike Schrantz (Member the Board of Directors for ISEAI) and Bill Webber (over 30 years of experience in environmental assessment).

We recorded an amazing, detailed discussion of how mold contamination occurs with a home, WHY CONVENTIONAL TESTING MISSES IT ALL THE TIME, and how you can test your home if you are concerned.

Broccoli extract for autism sounds insane at first.

But sulforaphane, the active compound found in broccoli extract, has actually shown some really interesting effects in kids dealing with neuroinflammation, ADHD, learning issues, PANS/PANDAS, and autism.

Here’s the part that almost nobody talks about though: timing matters.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is parents hearing that something is “good for autism” and immediately jumping into it, when the child’s nervous system and gut are still severely inflamed. And ironically, in those early stages, sulfur-rich compounds like sulforaphane can sometimes make behaviors worse instead of better.

I’ve seen kids become more hyperactive, more dysregulated, more overwhelmed, not because the supplement is “bad,” but because their system simply wasn’t ready for it yet.

Too many families are stuck in a cycle of trying random supplements without anyone explaining the bigger picture.

If your kid is sensitive to the world, gets overwhelmed easily - and he’s on supplements - you must listen to this.

Most supplements are made with citric acid, which in turn is made from black mold (the majority of it).

Knowing this, PLEASE check the supplement label on the back and make sure it doesn’t contain citric acid.

If it does, take a 5-7 days break from the supplements and see how your kid reacts.

It’s easy to laugh… until you realize how often this actually gets missed.

No parent is intentionally exposing their child to mold. But what I see over and over again is families dealing with constant ear infections, asthma, chronic congestion, kids always getting sick - without ever questioning the environment.

We’ve been taught to normalize it. “Kids just get sick.” “It’s just allergies.” But when symptoms improve on vacation and come right back at home - that’s not random.

In my experience, when issues are persistent or escalating, there’s usually something deeper driving it. And mold exposure is one of the most overlooked pieces.

If something feels off and you can’t quite explain it…

Comment "Test" and I’ll send you a simple way to check your home.⤵️

Is your kid getting sick all the time? Have they started developing odd behavioral challenges? Did these health challenges start after they started school? Do they seem to get better when on break only to develop problems again once back in school?

Your home might be fine… but what about your child’s school?

Around 1 in 5 schools have mold.

So when symptoms suddenly show up… chronic cough, asthma, constant infections… it might not be random.

The World Health Organization links mold exposure to a 3x higher risk of respiratory issues in kids.

Sometimes the problem isn’t the child.

It’s the environment they’re in every day.

Do you know whether you child’s school has mold or not? Are other kids getting sick often or developing odd problems? If so, it may be worth studying your child’s classroom.
