What was it like when The Power Ladies joined Champion Paddle?

A few hours on the water turned into new friendships, meaningful conversations, and a bigger Circle of Friendship.

This Champion Paddle in Marina del Rey brought together breast cancer survivors, patients, supporters, and members of The Power Ladies community for a morning centered around connection, movement, and wellness.

Created by Dr. Tiffany Grunwald, Champion Paddle offers a welcoming space where women can gather beyond the clinical side of recovery and spend time together in a setting filled with fresh air, calm water, and community.

From the shoreline to the harbor, the morning was filled with smiles, stories, encouragement, and the kind of connection that grows naturally when women share an experience together.

Long after treatment ends, many women notice subtle shifts that nobody fully prepared them for.

πŸ•ΈοΈ Tighter shoulders and chest
⚑ Nerve sensitivity
πŸ’§ Swelling that comes and goes
βš–οΈ Changes in posture, balance, energy, or mobility
πŸͺ’ Scar tissue that pulls in unexpected ways
🌊 A body that suddenly moves differently than it used to
It's not always dramatic but it can feel unfamiliar and it can be isolating when nobody around you is talking about it.

The β€œafter” phase of survivorship carries its own learning curve.

🦴 Bone health
πŸ«€ Cardiovascular awareness
πŸŒ™ Hormonal shifts
πŸ’§ Lymphatic changes
βš–οΈ Musculoskeletal compensation
πŸ•ΈοΈ Fascial tension

Inside the Circle of Friendship, these conversations unfold naturally between women who understand the strange little realities that often arrive after treatment.

Women compare notes and share what helped. Recognizing these common experiences brings relief.

There’s a phase after breast cancer treatment that doesn’t get explained clearly and it leaves a lot of women wondering why their bodies feel so different

⚑ Energy comes in waves

πŸ’ͺ Strength builds differently now, and can be slower and uneven

πŸ§β€β™€οΈ Range of motion can feel tight, guarded, or unfamiliar, especially through the chest and shoulders

🌑 Temperature + sleep shifts happen and sometimes rest can feel lighter or interrupted

βš–οΈ Body changes where weight may redistribute, even without major lifestyle changes

πŸ«€ Healing doesn’t end when treatment ends but continues for a long time.

Your body is establishing a new baseline, and it's helpful to understand that these changes are normal.

Inside the Breast Goddess Circle of Friendship, conversations and lived experiences are shared and held by the women who understand

After breast cancer treatment, your body establishes a new baseline

⚑ Energy shifts
πŸ’ͺ Strength evolves
πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« Sleep, temperature, and weight can all move in ways that feel unfamiliar

For many women navigating breast cancer recovery and breast reconstruction, this can create a question loop
β€œIs something wrong?”

In most cases, this is the body continuing to heal.

Understanding that can soften the edge of constant monitoring.

This is part of why the Breast Goddess Circle of Friendship exists, for real conversations, shared experience, the space to understand and be understood.

Finished with treatment… but your body still feels unfamiliar?

There’s a moment after treatment when things look done… but your body is still introducing itself to you.

Many women begin noticing changes they never thought to ask about.

🧡 Scars can keep changing long after surgery
🌑️ Skin can feel different than it looks
⚑ Sensation may not disappear and may become unpredictable
πŸ”‹ Fatigue can linger after recovery
πŸͺž What often goes unspoken…

These changes can shape how your body feels, how your clothes feel, how the mirror feels and many women wonder if they’re the only one.

Navigating the "after" can feel unfamiliar, that's why The Breast Goddess Circle of Friendship exists.

Join us for our next Champion Paddle gathering on June 7th.
