Meet Iliana Rosi Tawaketini: A Heart for Caring

Born under the caring and compassionate sign of Cancer, Iliana Rosi Tawaketini hails from Kabara Island in the Southern Lau Group of Fiji. Her journey in caregiving began at a young age, driven by a natural love for helping and looking after others.

For Iliana, caring has always been more than just a profession. She has experience caring for children as well as supporting older people, and when she moved to the United States, she was excited to continue doing what she loves.

One of the things Iliana treasures most about caregiving is the opportunity to listen. She enjoys hearing elderly clients share stories about their younger years, their experiences and the journeys that have shaped their lives.

“I love to listen to how elderly people’s journey was from their young times,” she says. For Iliana, these conversations are a meaningful reminder that every person has a story worth hearing. She also finds great purpose in being able to support people through their aging years and make their days a little easier.

Iliana is grateful to be part of the Caring A Life family, where she says she has felt welcomed and well supported. She particularly appreciates the kindness and service she has received from the team in the office.

Her advice to anyone considering a career in caregiving is simple but powerful: have a caring heart and be patient. Every situation can be different, and compassion and patience are essential qualities when supporting others.

Outside of caregiving, Iliana enjoys staying active and making the most of life. Her hobbies include playing volleyball, swimming and going on adventures.

For Iliana, caring is not simply about providing assistance. It is about listening, connecting, supporting and treating every person with genuine kindness and respect.
