✨ Why I Became an Acupuncturist ✨
People often ask me how I went from being a clinical social worker to becoming an acupuncturist. The truth is… I didn’t choose acupuncture first. Acupuncture found me.
Back in 2006, I became incredibly sick. My entire body would break out in painful hives. I was at the doctor’s office every few days, having vial after vial of blood drawn while they searched for answers.
No one could tell me what was wrong.
At one point, I was taking what felt like a pharmacy every single day—multiple prescription antihistamines, H1 and H2 blockers, Singulair, Claritin, Benadryl around the clock, stomach medications… enough medicine that I was walking through life like a zombie. Yet despite all of it, the hives kept coming.
Finally, my doctor looked at me and said something that changed the course of my life:
“I don’t know what’s going on. You should try acupuncture.”
I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but I was willing to try anything.
Acupuncture changed my life.
It didn’t just help my symptoms—it showed me that the body has an incredible ability to heal when it’s supported instead of simply medicated.
Life moved on. I continued my career as a clinical social worker, helping people heal emotionally while quietly carrying that experience with me.
Then COVID happened.
Like so many people, it made me reevaluate everything. I knew I wanted something different. I enrolled in massage therapy school, thinking that was the direction I wanted to go. But along the way, I discovered the School of Natural Medicine in Sand Springs.
The moment I learned about acupuncture, I knew I had found what I was meant to do.
About four and a half years ago, I began practicing out of Hot Shots. Today, I’m incredibly grateful to welcome patients into my own little clinic at 32 N. Water Street in Sapulpa.
Every day I have the privilege of helping people with pain, stress, migraines, insomnia, anxiety, digestive issues, hormonal concerns, allergies, and so much more.
I know what it’s like to feel unheard.
I know what it’s like to be searching for answers.
And I know how powerful it is when your body finally starts to heal.
If you’re tired of just managing symptoms and ready to start feeling real relief, now is the time to take that first step. Don’t wait until things get worse—your body deserves support today.
Appointments are limited, and I would love to help you start feeling better sooner rather than later. Reach out to schedule your session and experience the difference for yourself.
