Two of the most common misconceptions about filler are that it stays exactly where it’s placed forever and that what you see on day one is what you’ll look like long term.

The reality is that filler needs time to settle.

Swelling, water retention, and your body’s natural healing response can affect how it looks in the first few days.

It’s also true that filler can migrate over time, especially when too much product is placed repeatedly or treatments aren’t approached conservatively.

That’s why thoughtful treatment planning and a less-is-more approach matter. The goal isn’t just beautiful results today it’s maintaining natural-looking results for years to come.

Most of my patients used to think they had to wait until fall to do anything for their skin.

But microneedling is the one I am happy to do all summer long.

It is not a laser, so there is no heat and nothing that makes your skin react to the sun.

Microneedling is gentler on pigment too, which is why the women who get a little blotchy after the beach usually do beautifully with it.

Just stay on top of your SPF for a few days after and let your skin do the rest.

In all seriousness, I love helping people feel more confident in their own skin.

WHAT TO KNOW
-PDGF is designed to support the skin’s repair process after treatments that create controlled injury, like microneedling or laser.

-It works by helping signal the cells involved in healing, collagen support, and tissue repair.

-Clinically, PDGF has emerging evidence in aesthetic procedures, especially when used after energy-based treatments. In one randomized study, recombinant PDGF used after RF microneedling showed greater improvement in facial skin quality at 30 days compared with standard post-care.

-PDGF is not meant to replace microneedling, laser, or skincare. It is used as an add-on to support the recovery environment.
