Let us Introduce to you Peter Dorsa, MSPT
Peter G. Dorsa, MSPT, is a Sarasota-based physical therapist with more than three decades of clinical experience, primarily in private practice settings. Since beginning his career in 1994, he has developed an integrative treatment approach centered on the fascial system and the profound influence fascial restrictions can have on overall health, movement, and quality of life.
Throughout his career, Peter has been deeply interested in the interconnected nature of the body and how dysfunction within one area can affect the body as a whole. His work initially focused extensively on Myofascial Release Therapy, where he developed advanced hands-on treatment skills aimed at restoring mobility and reducing chronic patterns of tension and pain.
In 2015, Peter began advanced training in Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute in West Palm Beach. This work expanded his understanding of the relationship between the fascial system, organ mobility, diaphragmatic function, and overall wellness. By addressing restrictions within the abdominal and thoracic cavities, his treatment approach seeks to restore balance and improve the body’s natural ability to function and heal.
Peter has worked with patients experiencing a wide range of chronic and complex conditions, including gastrointestinal dysfunction, postural imbalances, chronic pain syndromes, stress-related tension patterns, and movement limitations. His integrative manual therapy approach is especially valuable for individuals who have often exhausted traditional treatment options without fully resolving the underlying causes of their symptoms.
A central aspect of Peter’s philosophy is the importance of truly listening to patients and understanding their personal health journey. He believes meaningful healing begins with creating a collaborative, patient-centered environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care.
Peter is passionate about collaborating with like-minded healthcare practitioners who value whole-person, patient-centered care. His goal is to serve as a resource for practices seeking a thoughtful, integrative approach to helping patients improve function, restore health, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
