My name is Tony. This page knows me as TJ Walsh. In my past I have gone through cancer two times. One time in my jaw and one time in my right eye. My jaw in 2015 and my eye in 2017.

I had an amazing team that was able to save my life. Without them and the research teams I would not be here today. In a chance to give back I am running the 10 mile portion of the Twin Cities Marathon on October 4th. My goal is to bring $500 to the foundation. That’s just $50 a mile I plan on running. It’s almost tee time for our 3rd Annual Heads Up! Golf Tournament! 🕰️

This year, we’ll be spending the day at the beautiful Rush Creek Golf Club on June 29 for a little friendly competition while supporting those affected by head and neck cancers.

The tournament brings together physicians, dentists, patients, and families all touched by this disease as part of the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation’s annual community events. Last year, 80 attendees helped make the tournament a success, raising $36,190.17!

All funds raised will support the Foundation’s programs, including free oral cancer screenings, patient support groups, the “We Fight with You” patient gift program, pathology research, and educational initiatives designed to raise awareness.

Today is Clinical Trials Day, and for patients facing head and neck cancer, research helps create more options for care.

Clinical trials help doctors and researchers study new ways to improve treatment, manage side effects, support quality of life, and guide patients throughout the cancer journey. They are not limited to one stage of cancer care.

For patients and families, understanding these options can be part of feeling more informed and supported throughout the process.

Here in Minnesota, there are four current head and neck cancer-related clinical trials that are focused on recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer, certain types of thyroid cancer, and care after surgery.

The rain held off just long enough for our 5th Annual Head & Neck Cancer Run/Walk, and we couldn’t have asked for a better morning!

It was so special to see many familiar faces who have made this event an annual tradition, while also welcoming many new participants this year. More than 80 participants successfully completed the course at Lake Bde Maka Ska!

It was amazing to watch survivors, providers, family, and friends cheer each other to the finish line.

Thank you for helping us continue bringing awareness, education, and support to those impacted by head and neck cancer. We look forward to seeing you again next year!🎗️
