Congratulations to Julie Richards, MPA, Institutional Coordinator with Wisconsin Northern & Central GME Consortium and RWHC, on receiving the Patriot Award!

Julie was nominated by Dr. Razlog-Novitchi for going above and beyond to help her access her GI benefits, working to get WiNC approved as a VA facility in the process. The Patriot Award, presented by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), recognizes supervisors and employers who provide outstanding support to National Guard and Reserve members and their families.

This kind of behind-the-scenes advocacy is what makes a real difference for the people we serve. Congratulations, Julie, and thank you for your dedication to our residents and physicians.

When thick in the midst of chaos, change, and/or challenge, it can feel like pressure under heavy weight. Demands are intense, everything is “now,” details are many, breathing becomes shallow.

Defeated, stressed, frustrated…there's no visible way out. The light at the end of the tunnel is merely a distant dot.

Is this how your work is feeling at the moment? Well, there's a way to find that light at the end of the tunnel.

This month's Eye On Health is out, and one line from Corrie Searles' column really stands out: "Healthcare is a business delivered for people, by people."

It's a good reminder right now.

Rural Wisconsin Hospitals are dealing with a lot right now, to say the least.

AI can help with some of that. But it can't hold someone's hand. It can't tell them they're seen.

That's still on us, and you can read more about it all here:https://rwhcweb.rwhc.com/Portals/0/eoh95/September.pdf

We've been across the state this Summer delivering Rural Health Ambassador Awards to deserving rural healthcare workers across the state!

This week we recognized Advanced NP Peggy Christianson from Emplify Health by Bellin Oconto's Lakewood Clinic!

Julie Bulin, VP of Emplify Health Oconto Hospital nominated Peggy. She said, "Since the opening of the Bellin Lakewood clinic in 2016, Peggy has grown her patient panel from 300 to over 1,000, serving a broad rural area from Mountain to Laona and Crivitz, Wisconsin. Her patient-centered approach, characterized by honesty, respect, and collaboration, has earned her trust and gratitude from many. Peggy's work directly addresses the unique challenges faced by rural populations, including elderly, low-income, and homebound individuals, making a measurable difference in their health outcomes and quality of life."

A tribute close to home.

Our Executive Director, Tim Size, received a white rose at the Wisconsin Nursing Workforce Summit in memory of his dear friend, Dr. Barbara L. Nichols. Her legacy as a nurse, leader, and mentor lives on. Thank you to the Wisconsin Center for Nursing and Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard for such a moving tribute.
