My name is Kristi Como, I am the owner of Body Polish and I live right here in Savannah. Nothing improves my confidence more than a touch of color to my skin, however, I also want to slow the signs of aging. So hence, Body Polish was born. I talk to women every day at Body Polish about making time for themselves.

Take the hour. Do the thing that makes you feel good. Buy yourself something simply because you love it. Stop feeling like every minute and every dollar has to be justified by someone else needing it more.

And the irony is… I need those reminders too.

One of our sweet clients made this tumbler for me, and I don’t think she had any idea how much such a simple gesture would mean.

Because I don’t always take the time to think about the little things I want or need for myself. I’m usually moving on to whatever is next. And I know so many of the women who walk through our doors do exactly the same thing.

So there was something unexpectedly special about someone stopping and thinking, Kristi would love this. I’m going to make it for her.

Not because I needed it.
Not because there was an occasion.
Just because she thought of me.

And apparently she knows me pretty damn well, because it is gloriously HOT PINK. 😂💗

You probably wouldn’t bring your own bottle of wine into a restaurant and expect them to pour it for you. Not because there’s anything wrong with your wine, it’s just not how restaurants work.

And honestly, that’s the easiest way I know to explain our outside lotion policy at Body Polish.

We’ve had people surprised that lotions purchased elsewhere can’t be brought in and used here. I get it; especially if you already have something you love.

But part of what we offer is the experience and the products that go with it.

We choose what we carry. We learn it. We know how it works with our equipment. We stand behind it. And yes, retail is also part of how a boutique like ours stays in business, just like drinks are part of a restaurant’s business.

You are absolutely welcome to buy and use whatever you’d like at home, but while you’re at Body Polish, we ask that you use products purchased here.

No complicated explanation. No lotion police. 😂

Just a small-business boundary that helps us protect the experience we’ve worked really hard to create.

And if you’re not sure what to use? Ask us. We’d much rather help you find something you actually LOVE than sell you something just because it’s sitting on our shelf. 💙
