I want to read something to you, directly from the page you've probably already visited:
"You can't be fully honest at work because you're the leader. You can't be fully honest at home because you're already the strong one there too."

You made thirty-two decisions before 9am today.

You held it all together.
You answered the questions nobody else could answer.
You kept it moving.
You are so good at this.

And, I would bet, you are also so freaking tired.

Extra tired. Like, in your bones tired. The tired that lives behind your eyes when someone asks how you're doing and you say "good, just been busy!" because the real answer would take too long and honestly, where would you even start?

So you carry it. You've gotten really good at carrying it.

But here's what I want you to sit with for just a second: What if you didn't have to?

What if there was a space where nobody needed anything from you, where the only thing you had to do was show up honest and be witnessed by women who are carrying the exact same thing?

Where you give and you receive, without guilt.

That's what's on the other side of your yes to the Nest.

One week from today, applications for The Nest close.

I know you’re busy and you are running the world without anyone seeing it. I know you’re tired af and unappreciated. I also know you’re a badass who wants to say yes to herself but feels guilty doing it.

My guess is that when you saw my posts about the Nest, that something inside you said yes, and then your phone buzzed. Someone needed something. There was a meeting. A deadline. A person who couldn't wait.

So you told yourself: I’m already too busy, I can’t even click on the application, how in tf would I have time to actually join the Nest.

I know you. Later is how you've been running your whole life. Later is what happens to the things that are actually FOR you.

But here's what I need you to hear right now:

Later is August 7th. That's it. That's the deadline.

After that, the door closes and The Nest begins without you.

The women inside that room will be having the exact conversations you've been having alone in your head for months, and the exact conversations you need right now.

You don't need more time to decide. You already decided. You just got interrupted.

If you're a woman in leadership, I want you to read this slowly:

You are not the only one who feels lonely at the top.

You are not the only one performing "fine" in every room.

You are not the only one whose mental load doesn't stop at 5pm.

But also, you are not broken. What you’re experiencing is something a lot of women are experiencing but we’re not sure how to say it because it might hurt our image or our reputation.

You are carrying something that was never meant to be carried alone and the likelihood of growing past it is slim in isolation. You need others in order to excel - whether that’s mentorship & coaching, a group outside of work, or a curated space that exists just for this reason. But no matter what, many hands make light work, and you can excel beyond your limitations when you bring in others to help you rise.

The Nest is a six-month group for women leaders, from corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and the women who built something and are now buried under it.

What if you had a magic ball that could instantly change everything for the better?

Yeah me too lol.

It doesn’t exist, no matter how much I wish it did, sorry.

However, we can choose to invest in creating growth for ourselves. It is a choice, and a commitment, but it doesn’t have to feel like a burden. In fact, it often feels like the exact opposite. It feels like a relief and a lighter load.

Here's what growth looked like for the women in the first round of The Nest (these are their words and their stories):

POWERFUL: She stopped shrinking in the meeting. Said the thing she'd only said in her head. Walked into rooms like she belonged there, because she finally believed she did.

LIGHTER: She let her husband handle dinner. Didn't check on it once. Went to bed before the laundry was folded. Slept good anyways.

DETERMINED: She sent the email she'd been drafting for three weeks. Closed her laptop at 5pm and didn't open it again until morning. Did not think about it all night or feel like she needed to doomscroll.

RELIEVED: She stopped performing like everything was hunky-dory at family dinner. Cried on the phone with her bestie when she needed it, and our call in the Nest. Nobody tried to fix it. She just got to be.

Inside the Nest, we effect change. We grow. We pour into others and let them pour into us.

Research just dropped that stopped me cold:
29% of women in leadership report burnout versus 19% of men!!

That 10-point gap has been consistent for FOUR straight years.

60% of women say their loneliness INCREASES as their careers progress.

The higher they go, the more alone they feel.

One of the women I work with described it perfectly:"I feel like life is an equation I have to figure out. Effort + productivity = value."

She was exhausted from doing the math! It gets so tiring to continually give the effort and be more productive than anyone else, just to prove our value. We can only keep that up so long.

She needed a room where she didn't have to prove anything. Where she could show up however it was that she was showing up that day - put together or in a bathrobe with her hair in a towel. Water with supplements or a glass of wine. In tears or in joy. Whatever. She could just be HER.

The Nest is that room.

I had the absolute honor of speaking at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Administrative Professionals Conference last fall, and these photos that came in this morning just brought all of it rushing back. That audience was EVERYTHING. Sharp, engaged, real and exactly the kind of people I love being in a room with.

In fact, in my meeting with the organizers after the talk, I learned that nearly half of the people that attended my workshop rated it as the most impactful session of the entire conference! Now that's what I'm talking about 🎉 It means they got what they came for, and that they can walk away feeling better about the work they're doing each and every day.

And guess what? I'm going back next month! 🎉

I'll be there for an entire week for their Leadership Conference, leading two workshops on priority and time management. TWO. I am so here for it.
