When I’m getting a new service done, I’m always most concerned about two things: effectiveness… and pain. (I am literally the biggest baby!) There are some painful lasers out there, but our machine has adjustable cooling built right into the handpiece, chilling the skin before, during, and after each pulse. Your skin is actively being protected the whole time. Less heat, less redness, and a way more tolerable experience than most people expect walking in.

I chose this equipment carefully, and I know how to use it to get you the best possible results in the shortest amount of time. That’s always my goal.

When I started my aesthetics career, I was at a loss for how to advertise my services. I was primarily focused on hair removal, and in 2011, it was even more challenging to talk to very conservative southern women about Brazilians. Everyone was afraid we’d cross paths in the grocery store and they’d be too embarrassed to stand it!

It occurred to me that I could use n**e Barbies to advertise, adding a touch of humor to something awkward, and my philosophy was that hair removal may not be comfortable, but it COULD be fun. That it SHOULD feel elevated and luxurious, not carried out in a dark back room halfheartedly painted like an ocean and treated like a dirty secret.

When I opened Southern Sugaring in 2015, I created something brand new in the industry, and the company became known for our dolls, our attention to detail, and our fun and luxe take on hair removal.

In 2024, we started using The Dreamhouse as a tongue-in-cheek way to refer to the company, and when we bought our current location, I knew it was time to overhaul the brand and fully transition to our new name. Southern Sugaring was known, but it was conceived of quickly and out of necessity, and somehow it stuck for ten years. The Dreamhouse really encompasses what the spa is and what it can become, so as we complete our eleventh year in business, we begin anew.

Our clients are our dolls, and the dolls are home when they arrive at The Dreamhouse.

This must be the place.

For three years I’ve been challenged with unlearning what pushed me toward “more” and “bigger”. I’ve asked and answered uncomfortable questions, began to understand myself outside of performance and work, and learned how to sit with discomfort and trust uncertainty.

Now, I define what growth is. It isn’t what I expected, because I never would have known to ask for something so beautifully uncomplicated.

Opening The Dreamhouse tomorrow feels like coming home.
