Congratulations to Dr. Chad Lavender on being named Intermed Labs' 2026 Innovator of the Year.

Dr. Lavender conceptualized spatial arthroscopy, a technology in development that brings the surgical camera view directly into the surgeon's line of sight. His work is helping shape the future of minimally invasive surgery, and we're proud to have him on the Marshall Orthopaedics team.

Orthopaedic surgeon Saygin Kamaci, M.D., performed Marshall Health Network's first robotic-assisted joint replacement at Marshall Health Network - Rivers Health. The procedure, performed using the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted System, marks a milestone at the hospital, which previously performed knee and hip replacements manually.

Orthopaedics walk-in at Marshall Health - Teays Valley will be available Friday, Oct. 2, during morning hours only. There will be no afternoon walk-in hours.

Patients needing care Friday afternoon may visit the walk-in clinic at Marshall Sports Medicine Institute in Huntington from 1:00 to 3:00PM.

Dr. Aouod Agenor is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in conditions and injuries affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

He treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions, including:
• Arthritis and joint pain
• Broken bones
• Shoulder pain and rotator cuff tears, including shoulder replacement
• Numbness, tingling and hand pain, including carpal tunnel syndrome
• Sports injuries

Marshall Health Network's Dr. John Jasko performed West Virginia’s first robotic arm-assisted shoulder replacement surgery using Mako ™.

Known as , the technology combines 3D CT-based planning with robotic arm-assisted technology to create a patient-specific surgical plan based on each individual’s anatomy. Surgeons can review the plan before surgery and make adjustments as needed during the procedure.

Dr. Steve Lochow provides expert orthopaedic care at Scott Orthopedic Center, specializing in adult and geriatric fracture care, as well as anterior hip replacement.

After completing specialized orthopaedic trauma training at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Lochow has dedicated his career to advancing fracture care and hip replacement techniques. A pioneer in anterior hip replacement, he has taught hundreds of surgeons across the country about this innovative approach and has performed more than 3,000 hip replacements during his time serving patients throughout the Tri-State.

With a focus on education, innovation and patient-centered care, Dr. Lochow is committed to helping patients regain mobility and return to the activities they love.
