Today we want to give a special happy birthday shoutout to our Chief Financial Officer and Chief Lab Officer, Valerie Broussard. ✨

Valerie is one of the original owners of Premier Lab, and we are incredibly grateful to have partnered with her and her husband to help build Premier into what it is today. Her leadership, dedication, and vision have played a huge role in Premier’s established success and recent growth over the last 1.5 years together.

Behind the scenes, Valerie keeps our lab operations moving smoothly every single day — managing our team on site, overseeing workflow, and helping ensure the level of service and efficiency our clients have come to expect from Premier Lab.

Outside of Premier, Valerie is a mother to two beautiful daughters, a wife and an accomplished entrepreneur and businesswoman with experience spanning restaurants, bakeries, imaging centers, and more. Her work ethic, business knowledge, and passion for excellence continue to inspire everyone around her.

We’re excited to announce that our lab expansion project, which began last April, is now complete! ✨

Our toxicology department is now fully moved into the new space, with six LC-MS instruments validated and running for urine and oral fluid testing, along with two AU680 screening instruments. This means our customers are already seeing the 24–48 hour turnaround times we set out to achieve. 💥

In addition, we completed validation of our new PCR panels and two Thermo Fisher QuantStudio instruments, allowing us to offer next-morning turnaround time for RPP, STI, UTI, Women’s Health, and GPP testing. 💨

Next we plan to bring our third Vitros instrument online June 1st, along with an automated track system designed to streamline blood testing and improve workflow across the lab. 🧪

To better support our customers during Louisiana hurricane season and severe weather events, we installed a second 120-kilowatt generator to help ensure testing can continue day or night, even during power outages. 🔋

We’ve also added a new courier vehicle to help meet the growing needs of clients across the state who rely on end-of-day lab pickups. 🛻

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this 13-month journey. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s next. 💪

This technology is a highly sensitive analytical technique combining physical separation (LC) with molecular mass identification (MS). It separates complex mixtures—often based on polarity—and fragments ionized components to identify and quantify trace substances in pharmaceutical, environmental, and biological samples.
