dfusion is presenting at ABAI 2026, the annual meeting of the Association for Behavior Analysis International, in San Francisco today, and we're proud to share the work our team is bringing to the field.
Izzy Schieber is presenting twice as part of a symposium chaired by A. Gushchyan: "The use of video modeling and virtual reality to teach practitioners and autistic clients."
Presentation 1:
SkillTalk for autistic young adults: Video modeling for relationship skills for healthy and independent living
Schieber, E., Edwards, L., Firpo, R., Laris, B., Graham-Holmes, L., & Firpo-Triplett, R.
SkillTalk uses video modeling to help autistic young adults build the relationship and social skills that support healthy, connected, and independent lives — an area where evidence-based tools remain critically underserved.
Presentation 2:
SkillFlix for substance use disorder counselors: Video modeling compassionate care when working with autistic clients
Kidane, H.T., Laris, B., Barrett, M., Graham Holmes, L., Firpo-Triplett, R., & Schieber, E.
Autistic individuals face elevated rates of substance use and significant barriers to receiving care that's actually responsive to their needs. SkillFlix brings video modeling to SUD counselor training — building the specific skills needed to deliver compassionate, autism-affirming care.
Together, these presentations reflect something central to how dfusion works: we develop tools grounded in behavioral science, we study them rigorously, and we share what we find with the field.
Congratulations to Izzy and the full research team. We're proud to be in the room. 🙌
