STARS serves individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injuries and other cognitive and intellectual disabilities.

Meet Corey. 🏌️‍♂️✨

If you've been following our journey, you already know him. Corey is a STARS participant whose energy and commitment are the reason why we were nominated for the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Award.

This summer he's heading to Minneapolis to compete in the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Unified Golf alongside his partner Eric.

Kendra was a Job Placement Coordinator in our CIE Employment Services program who passed away earlier this year. In her honor, STARS is launching a quarterly recognition award highlighting outstanding CIE participants — individuals with developmental disabilities who are excelling in their employment journey. The first recognition will be featured in our next newsletter issue and will continue every quarter. The award is meant to celebrate the same qualities Kendra embodied — dedication, compassion, and integrity.

***There is a GOFUNDME in our Bio for her family to help with funeral costs, and we would like to set some money aside for her two boys to make sure they are taken care of.***

Kendra fue Coordinadora de Colocación Laboral en nuestro programa de Servicios de Empleo CIE y falleció a principios de este año. En su honor, STARS lanzará un reconocimiento trimestral para destacar a participantes sobresalientes del programa CIE: personas con discapacidades del desarrollo que están sobresaliendo en su trayectoria laboral.

El primer reconocimiento aparecerá en la próxima edición de nuestro boletín informativo y continuará otorgándose cada trimestre. Este reconocimiento tiene como propósito celebrar las mismas cualidades que Kendra representó: dedicación, compasión e integridad.
