Welcome to my bench. As you notice from the photo, this tranquil space is far different from a bench owned by a judge or a preacher. There's no hierarchy in this bench. The I-get-you kind of experience is what I attempt to reach in Geof's bench. I do hope to share with you how a safe place is used by those who sit together trying to see things from the same side of the lake. I would like us to explore and study the many simple things that go unnoticed but are useful in our mental and psycho-spiritual health. Everyday life skills that do promote healthier relationship with self and others.
As a Clinical Supervisor in the field of Pastoral Care and Counseling, I am humbled and honored to journey with those who are in crisis, many by ordinary people who are hurting, and even those who are already in the helping profession. My expertise in pastoral care and counseling has been enriched by various experiences brought by patients, clients, and students who allowed me to midwife their stories. Yes, these are buried stories that are dying to be born. Every week I will commit to share with you life skills and nuggets of wisdom that went along the birthing process of individuals who have spent time at Geof's bench.
