To those who care;
All About Us Kid was a wonderful out reach to the children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and their mother she sat - caregiver- who sat beside them throughout the night; we also nurture them. Maricopa Integrated Health Systems, we provided our Mission to thousands of children over 41/2 years in the Burn & Trauma Unit. There were so many children and infants who did not- many times, have one visitor. Even their mothers.
But our beautiful, caring volunteers were there. As many days a week at 4. There were times we were asked to hold and comfort a sick and crying infant.
Over these many years, financial support from 1 special woman, and others who provided shirts, hats, crayons, coloring books, reading material and a volunteers to take love and care to-thousands of children.
With the many competing for funding, and not enough funds to pay advertisers as well as care for the child, we continued caring and sadly, the funding dried up.
The hospitals financial loads did not allow for funding, but they could provide us their love of the program and room for a storage cabinet for our daily supplies, and open arms. Obviously, this alone did not pay the bills, to fund the things that had to be provided: including a supervisor to oversee all of the other volunteers.
Sadly after 5 years All About Us Kids 😊 closed.
Calls continued to come from both hospitals to return; but they still didn’t have any funding but to provide a room for us to nurture and an open door.
So today Face In The Mirror‘s divisionALL ABOUT US KIDS remains closed.
As in all nonprofits funding is the only means to do a nation are you follow your heart❤️
