Your body starts responding to an appointment before you even walk through the door.

Things we often notice:
• Shallow breathing
• Jaw tension
• Cold hands
• Elevated heart rate
• Appetite suppression

A few simple ways to help your nervous system feel safer:
→ Longer exhales than inhales
→ Warm tea or warm hands
→ Unclench your jaw
→ Protein + hydration beforehand
→ Reduce sensory overload

The goal isn’t to “stay positive.”
The goal is to help your body feel safe enough to regulate. 💙

Have you ever noticed the Waiting Room Effect?

“I had no choice other than to accept it… and keep going.”

Micalyn McCready’s ( )story is one of the most powerful Patient Perspectives conversations we’ve had on Rubin On Point.

From tongue cancer and reconstructive surgery… to brain lesions, immunotherapy, severe infections, and years of uncertainty—this episode is about what it really means to keep moving forward when life changes overnight.

But it’s also about resilience.
About identity.
About learning who truly shows up for you.
And about rebuilding a life you actually want to live.

Now, nearly six years later, Micalyn is cancer free. ❤️

This conversation is raw, honest, emotional, and deeply human.

Spring produce just hits different.

These are built entirely around what’s in season right now → better flavor, better hydration, no extras needed.

Three seasonal sippers (shake with coconut water + ice):

1. Watermelon • Blackberry • Mint
Peak-sweet + ultra refreshing
* 1 cup watermelon
* ¼ cup blackberries
* 5–6 mint leaves
Muddle or juice → shake → strain
Seasonal edge: naturally sweeter, higher water content = effortless hydration

2. Cantaloupe • Rosemary
Light + herbaceous
* 1 cup cantaloupe
* 1 small rosemary sprig (bruised)
Muddle or juice → shake → strain
Seasonal edge: ripe melon = smoother texture, more mineral-rich

3. Peach • Pomelo • Sage
Bright + balanced
* 1 ripe peach
* ½ cup pomelo (or grapefruit)
* 3–4 sage leaves
Muddle or juice → shake → strain
Seasonal edge: peak citrus + stone fruit = better flavor without added sugar

Seasonal = more flavor, more hydration, less need for anything artificial.

Movement—but make it supportive.
Not all movement helps. The wrong dose can add stress when your body is already doing a lot.
• Low-impact movement → supports circulation without depletion
• Qigong / functional movement → gentle, intentional, restorative
• Short, consistent sessions → more benefit than pushing too far
• Energy check-ins → adjust based on how your body responds
The goal isn’t to push harder.
It’s to support what your body is already working through.
Especially during treatment or recovery, the right kind of movement can help maintain strength, improve resilience, and support how you feel day to day.

Your immune system already knows how to fight cancer.
The question is… does it recognize the target?
In this episode of Rubin On Point, Dr. Dan Rubin sits down with Rafael Gonzalez PhD ( )to break down dendritic cell therapy by Immunocine ( )—one of the most advanced forms of personalized immunotherapy.

This isn’t about “boosting” the immune system.It’s about training it.
→ Using your own tumor biology→ Creating a precise immune target→ Giving your body the correct signal to act

They also get into:• Why dendritic cells act as the “command center”• The role of natural killer cells in eliminating damaged cells• What most people misunderstand about exosomes• Why preserving tumor tissue could matter later
This is where oncology is going—precision, personalization, and cellular intelligence.
