I am 55 years old.

Fifty-five years on this earth. That feels impossible and sacred.

I’m thinking about the little be-bop girl roller-skating at the Roller Palace in Brooklyn. The girl who spent summers at Ortley and Brighton Beach. The girl who stood in Slide Rock in Arizona and said, “I’m going to live here one day.”

And I did.

I’m also reflecting on what I endured and survived.

For over 20 years, I endured severe abuse from a husband who was supposed to be my safe place. I am grateful to be free, but freedom does not erase the scars.

My body kept the score.

It lives with C-PTSD, MCAS, EDS, POTS, chronic pain, fear, and exhaustion. My heart wants to explore, work out, love my family, and enjoy this freedom. Sometimes my body cannot keep up.

But that is not my whole story.

I survived. I met the love of my life, the man God placed beside me to be my rock. I became a mother, a Bubbie, and a business owner. I built something meaningful after walking through the fire.

My clients trust my expertise and helped me find confidence I never knew before. I didn’t simply build a business. I rebuilt myself.

The scared little mouse became both a gentle lamb and a lion. I found my words and learned I am allowed to use them. I can be strong while still needing tenderness and the emotional equivalent of a chunky chenille blanket.

God’s hand has always been on my life, even when I didn’t recognize it. At 55, I see what I wish I had done differently. But I know God is working behind the scenes, turning pain into purpose and scars into compassion.

To my parents and family, I love and appreciate you beyond words. Even when my body limits me, I pray for you daily.

To my grandchildren, your Bubbie’s love lives in every FaceTime, text, prayer, and countdown until our NJ sleepovers begin again.

Vulnerability is hard, but someone may be in the fire, unable to imagine who she could become when she walks out.

I want her to know:

Freedom is possible.
Love can still find you.
God has not forgotten you.
Your voice is still inside you.
Beneath the scars, a beautiful life is waiting.

I am still healing.
Still learning.
Still becoming.

And I am so grateful to be here.

My hormones filed for full custody of my face and nobody told me.

Estrogen packed a bag. Cortisol moved into the guest room and never left.

I cried at a Subaru commercial and broke out three hours later. Coincidence, or the same unhinged nervous system running both departments.

Turns out skin doesn’t lie. It just reports. Skipped meals, bad nights, the stress you’ve rebranded as “just tired.”

I’m a licensed esthetician who reads hormonal, reactive skin for a living, because I’ve been living in mine the whole time too.

Good news. Chaos with a pattern is just a problem. And problems get solved.

Comment QUIZ and let’s go find out what yours is up to.

Perimenopause skin changes are why you started stepping out of the photos.

Always the one holding the camera now.

Always the one who says just get the kids in this one.

You didn’t get careless. You didn’t get lazy. You got dismissed, told it was just aging and sent home with nothing.

Here’s what was actually happening.

Your hormones shifted.

Your barrier lost its grip.

Your face kept the receipt.

I’m a licensed esthetician and I read reactive skin because I live in it.

Peri, meno, and every shift before it.

Your skin is not the problem. It’s the message. And it’s been waiting for someone to finally read it.

🩷 Get back in the photo.

Comment QUIZ and I’ll help you find your pattern.

Reactive skin is not misbehaving. It’s a nervous system stuck on high alert.

I’m a licensed esthetician for hormonal, reactive skin. Peri, meno, and every shift before it. And this is the part most women were never told.

When your skin flushes, stings, and reacts to things it used to handle just fine, that’s not a character flaw. It’s a body that can’t calm down. And skin cannot repair while it’s bracing.

This is Rona. She’s a certified therapy dog. Her whole job is to walk into a room and lower the temperature in it. To help a nervous system remember it’s safe.

That’s the first thing I do for your skin too. I don’t attack it. I calm it. Calm comes before glow, every single time.

If your skin has been reacting to everything lately and you’re tired of guessing why, comment QUIZ. I’ll send you the two minute quiz that tells you what your skin is actually doing.

your skin is not random.

07/26/2026

There is nothing better than hearing a woman say…

“I finally feel like myself again.”

Because that’s what this is really about.

It’s never just the breakouts.
It’s never just the redness.
It’s never just the lines.

When your hormones shift, your nervous system is overwhelmed, and your skin loses its stability, it can feel like you’ve lost trust in your own reflection.

But here’s what I want you to know.

Your skin is not broken.
It is communicating.

When you understand what it’s trying to tell you, everything changes.

You stop chasing products.
You stop guessing.
You stop blaming yourself.

Instead, you begin rebuilding.

We stabilize your skin.
We support your barrier.
We work with your hormones, not against them.
We calm your nervous system.
And little by little, you start recognizing yourself again.

That is the philosophy behind everything I do.

There is hope.
There are answers.
And you do not have to figure this out alone.

💗 Comment QUIZ and I’ll send you my free Skin Instability Quiz so you can discover what your skin has been trying to tell you all along.

Puberty. The breakout before every period. Pregnancy. Postpartum. And now peri, or meno.

Your skin has reacted at every hormonal shift you’ve ever moved through. That was never random. That’s a pattern.

I’m Lisa, a licensed esthetician for reactive, hormonal skin through peri, meno, and every shift before it. And I need you to hear this part.

Here’s the whole storm in one breath. Stress lands in your gut. Your gut talks to your hormones. Your hormones show up on your face.

That’s it. That’s the thing nobody explained while you kept buying one more product to fix a fire that started somewhere else.

Your body is not failing you. It’s keeping score. It’s asking for help, not a fight.

So we don’t attack it. We calm what’s underneath, and watch what your body does when the pressure finally comes off.

It restores. Take the weight off what started it, and the barrier stops bracing.

It renews. Real skin, built from the inside, not forced from the outside.

It redirects. Because God knew what your body needed long before you did, and you were never meant to white knuckle this alone.

You can stop forcing it now. Safe. Held. Seen. Lean not on your own understanding, and rest.

If you want to see the pattern driving yours, comment QUIZ and I’ll send you the Barrier Instability Quiz. Two minutes. Gentle. Yours.

Perimenopausal and menopausal skin does not need more products. It needs someone who can actually read it.

I’m Lisa, a licensed esthetician and hormonal skin expert for skin that stopped behaving through peri, meno, and every shift before it.

The women who come to me have usually tried everything. They are not lazy. They are not uninformed. They are not doing it wrong.

They just never had anyone read their skin correctly.

So we stop guessing and we start reading. I find what is actually driving your instability. Hormonal. Barrier. Inflammatory. Or all three at once. Then I build the protocol around it.

Your skin is not betraying you. It is sending real signals and waiting for someone to finally read them.

Here’s how we begin. Comment QUIZ and I’ll send you the Barrier Instability Quiz so you can see your pattern in plain language. From there, the Virtual Skin Intake is where we sit down together and build your plan.

You have been looking for someone who gets it.

I was the client I serve.

Broken out. Stressed out. Reacting to everything. Sure I had done it to myself.

For years my life was pure chaos. A marriage that was breaking me. A business to run. Kids to raise. Five dogs and a cat. My digestion was a wreck and my body never left fight or flight.

My skin wasn’t the problem. My skin was the receipt.

Here’s what almost nobody knows about me. I was a detective long before I was an esthetician. I owned a sprinkler company. I became a medical coder. And the whole time I was researching, digging, refusing to stop until I found the root cause. Not just for skin. For everything.

At 41 I left. I started over. I took a dermaplaning class while I waited on a resume to land, opened a little solo studio in Scottsdale, and fell in love with the work. Eight years. Clients who became family.

Rosie was there for all of it. She wasn’t just my dog. She was in the treatment room. She was part of this little world we built.

Then we moved back to New Jersey, and she died, and my nervous system broke right along with my heart. My old life crept back in and brought C-PTSD with it. I live with MCAS, EDS, and POTS. Three invisible illnesses that are always present and always trying to break me down.

So I did what I’ve always done. I researched. I got help. I healed.

Grief strips everything down to what actually matters. For me, that’s stability. In life. In nervous systems. And in skin.

I don’t attack inflamed skin. I stabilize it. Rosie was calm energy in every treatment room, and that is still how I practice.

I’m not in the wounds anymore. I’m in the scars.

Rona is my therapy dog now. I work from a recliner most days. I didn’t fall apart. By the grace of God, I became resilient.

I’m still here. Still working. Still helping women calm chaotic skin.

Perimenopause skin doesn’t just get drier. It gets reactive.

I’m Lisa, a licensed esthetician, and I work with women whose skin turned red, stinging, and unpredictable through peri, meno, and every shift before it.

You had a routine. You trusted it. It worked.

Then your hormones changed and your skin stopped cooperating with the exact products you’d used for years.

Here’s what nobody told you.

That isn’t sensitive skin. Sensitive skin is something you’re born with. What you have is barrier instability, and that’s something that happened to you.

When estrogen drops, your barrier holds less water and blocks less irritation. So it reacts to things it handled for twenty years without blinking.

You didn’t ruin your skin. You didn’t do this to yourself. Your barrier lost its footing, and barriers rebuild.

You don’t need more products. You need direction.

Comment QUIZ and I’ll send you the Barrier Instability Quiz. Two minutes. It tells you exactly what’s driving yours.
