Landmine Rotation

There are two versions of Rotational Power to identify

Ballistic Rotation vs. Locomotive Ballistic Rotation

Think throwing something as far as you can

You are going to generally wind up to use motion as a power amplifier

We can train with movement and rotation being complimentary

Unconventional Landmine Training

Squat with Side Step

Interlace your fingers to securely grip the far end of the landmine held tightly against the sternum. Place your feet close together directly under the hips and
assume a slight lean into the landmine.

Weight should be shifted forward slightly
into the ball of the foot. Descend down into the squat. At the bottom position, take a sidestep to laterally shift. From the new position, stand up. Do the same move to return to your initial position. That is 1 rep.

Don’t let someone negotiate your worth!

Far too often I meet coaches who are being underpaid, under appreciated, and burnt out from working long hours for very little money.

This is a fitness industry issue as a whole.

✔️S&C programs paying one person everything and the rest of the staff nothing.
✔️ Internships being pitched as life changing opportunities
✔️ Fake Business Coaches scamming people out of thousands of dollars on a pipe dream
✔️Trainers getting paid crap money because “the gym is creating the opportunity”

In the end of the day, you have to know what your worth is. Otherwise, you’ll never get recognized for it.

It’s nauseating

More times than I can count when I meet someone that wants to do in-person training

It’s because they can’t find a coach that doesn’t want to do it on Zoom or through a PDF

We are doing a disservice to people

There is immense value in being someone clients can rely on day, and day out

The 1.5 Rule changed how I think about pricing and it should change yours too

For every hour you train someone, you're spending roughly 1.5 hours on everything that surrounds it.

Program Design
Communication
Admin
Education
Prep

A 25-session training week is closer to a 40-hour work week

When you price based on the hour you're in the gym, you're ignoring everything that makes that hour worth paying for.

You're not selling time
You're selling outcomes

Price your work that way!

I love chest supported options but…

When clients or people don’t have the right setup, damn it can be challenging

I love using an open trap bar
