If you are over 50 navigating aging stronger, this one is for you.
The other day, I was buried in work at my computer when a thought popped into my head:
“If you don’t do your workout now… it’s probably not happening today.”
I knew that voice was right.
So instead of overthinking it, negotiating with myself, or promising I’d do it later… I just got up and moved.
And wow. The rest of my day went so much better.
Here's what I want you to take from that:
When that little voice in your head tries to be helpful, listen to it.
Because if you don’t, eventually it will go silent.
In my case, with the workout, it didn’t have to be a full blown workout to “count.”
It just had to be something. (And if I had thought about it for 10 seconds before I got up, it probably wouldn’t have happened, TBH.)
The real benefit wasn’t physical… it was a mindset victory.
Because listening to that voice reinforced something important: that my fitness and health matter to me.
And over time, it helps make consistency feel natural.
So the next time that little voice nudges you to:
→ Go for the walk
→ Prep the meal
→ Stretch for 5 minutes
→ Go to bed earlier
→ Get the workout done
Don’t overthink it.
Move before your brain talks you out of it.
Save this for the next time you need the reminder.
