When we first started working together, irritability was one of the things affecting her daily life.

Not “I’m a little annoyed today.”

More like:

Why is everyone breathing so loudly and WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME ANOTHER QUESTION?

But irritability wasn’t happening in isolation.

We were looking at the bigger picture:

🧠 cognitive changes
😴 sleep
⚡ energy
🔥 hormone-related symptoms
🍽️ nutrition and daily habits
💊 her overall health picture
🧩 what had changed compared with how she used to function

Over time, she started noticing changes.

And during follow-up, one of her very scientific outcome measures was essentially:

“I don’t want to murder my husband anymore.”

😂

Her words, not mine.

But underneath the joke is something I hear from women constantly:

“I don’t feel like myself.”

They’re more reactive.
Less tolerant of noise.
Overstimulated faster.
Their ADHD feels louder.
Their relationships are taking the hit.

And nobody has helped them put the pieces together.

That is why I don’t look at one symptom and ask, “Is this normal?”

I want to know:

What changed? When did it change? What else changed with it? And what is making your life harder now?

Because sometimes “I’m suddenly an angry person” isn’t the whole story.

Yes, she was joking when she said it. 😂
But I hear versions of this story from women all the time.
“I don’t know why everyone irritates me.”
“I have absolutely no patience.”
“Noise makes me want to crawl out of my skin.”
“My husband hasn’t changed, but suddenly everything he does drives me insane.”
“I don’t feel like myself.”

This woman had been noticing changes in more than one area of her life. Irritability wasn’t an isolated symptom, so we didn’t look at it in isolation.

We looked at the bigger picture: sleep, energy, cognitive changes, daily habits, hormone-related symptoms, overall health, and what had changed compared with how she used to function.

At follow-up, one of the ways she described the difference was:
“I don’t want to murder my husband anymore.”
Funny? Absolutely.
But also meaningful.
Because sometimes improvement isn’t a number on a lab report.
Sometimes it’s:
“I feel more like myself.”

Women deserve someone who asks what changed instead of dismissing every symptom individually.

The estrogen receptors in your cartilage and connective tissue didn’t get the memo that your doctor sent. As estrogen drops, joints lose lubrication and inflammation goes up, which is why so many women in perimenopause suddenly feel like they need a warm up just to walk down stairs.

If this is you, it has a name (arthralgia) and it has treatment options. You’re not falling apart, you have just been misinformed.

Book a discovery call (link in bio) and let’s talk about what’s actually going on in your body.

Trying to work from home is easy when you have a supportive supervisor.

Mine just happens to believe personal space is a performance issue. 🐈

Women deserve more than “that’s just aging.”

Getting older doesn’t mean we stop asking good questions.

The most important question is often the simplest one:

What changed?

Women should not have to become visibly miserable before they qualify for care.

If your provider needs you to sweat through two shirts before your night sweats count, the problem is not your threshold for suffering.
