Eat more coconuts! 🥥

Medium Chain Triglycerides are called MCTs. The MCTs in coconut are converted by your liver — giving your brain and body fast, clean energy without the crash.

2. 🔥 Weight Loss
MCTs have been shown to increase calorie burning and promote fat loss, especially around the midsection.

3. 💪 Strengthens Your Immune System
Lauric acid converts into monolaurin in the body — a powerful compound that fights bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

4. 🫀 Boosts Heart Health
Coconut raises HDL (“good”) cholesterol, helping to protect your cardiovascular system naturally.

5. 🌿 Good Bacteria
High in fiber, coconut nourishes good gut bacteria, improves digestion, and keeps things moving.

6. 💧 Keeps You Hydrated
Coconut water is packed with natural electrolytes — potassium, magnesium, and sodium — making it nature’s sports drink.

Powerful antioxidants like gallic and caffeic acid protect your cells from damage and reduce chronic inflammation.

High in manganese and copper, coconut supports bone density and collagen production.

9. 🧠 Sharpens Brain Function
MCTs provide ketone energy to the brain, which may improve focus, clarity, and cognitive performance.

10. ✨ Skin & Hair
Eaten or applied, the healthy fats and antioxidants nourish skin from the inside out and strengthen hair.

Wellness Tip #153
Please wash all fruits and vegetables, even if it says washed.

Watermelon
Bananas
Bagged salad
Bagged vegetables

It has to be washed.

There are too many opportunistic bacteria like Salmonella and E. Coli that want to live inside of you.

There are several methods to remove viruses, bacteria, and chemicals from produce, but I use baking soda and water. Some people use vinegar and water, others use a produce wash. After soaking for 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with water, and scrub with a vegetable brush.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is an activist group that educates the public on safe food. Each year, they make a list of The Dirty Dozen, a list of fruits and vegetables that have the highest levels of pesticides, and The Clean 15, a list of produce with the lowest levels of pesticides. If you are unable to buy all of your produce organic, please follow this list. It can be found on their website www.ewg.org.

Wellness Tip #108
Motion is lotion for your body. As we age, it becomes harder to strengthen bones and build muscle. Change your activity to keep your body guessing.

Move your body:

🏋🏻To maintain independence:
As we age, we naturally lose muscle. This starts around age 30, and gets worse after 60. Having more muscle built up earlier in life creates a reserve so that you will have the strength needed for daily activities like climbing stairs, carrying groceries, and bathing later on in life.

🏋🏽‍♂️To strengthen bones
Exercise can prevent osteoporosis by increasing bone density. Strong muscles also provide better support and protection for your skeleton.

🏋🏽‍♀️To Keep Your Weight in Check
Muscle burns more calories than fat . More muscle means a higher baseline metabolism, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight and diseases as you age.

🏋🏼To Prevent Falls
Falls are the leading cause of injury and loss of independence in older adults. The more your body can balance, and has muscle strength, especially in the legs and core, helps

🏋🏽‍♂️It Gets Harder in Later Years
Building muscle is more difficult with age, mostly due to a decrease in estrogen and testosterone. The muscles that you build in your 20s-40s is easier to maintain than it is to create from at age 70
