This last week we celebrated nurses a little differently at Azul Hospice & Palliative Care. There was confetti flying through the office, nostalgic childhood goodies, and smiles galore! 💙

As nurses are the ones constantly giving of themselves, it's easy to forget JOY. The kind that reminds you who you were before adulthood became so serious. We wanted our nurses to feel light again, even for a moment. To laugh out loud, reconnect with each other, and remember that constantly caring for others does not mean losing yourself in the process.

To all nurses: Thanks for the humanity that you carry into every situation. We hope you continue to be reminded that JOY still belongs to you! ✨

Nurses Week at Azul is officially underway! 🌈☀️

This year's theme at Azul is "Remember the Joy" because hospice work is not always joyful. However, it can be funny, human, connected, and full of moments that keep us locked in.

The joy we find in being trusted by families.
The joy in making someone feel comfortable and dignified.
The joy of laughing at the wild things our patients say with each other after a team meeting.

Hospice (and all) nurses carry a lot emotionally while still showing up with skill, compassion, patience, and heart every visit. So this week, we are leaning into color, fun, celebration, childhood nostalgia, confetti, music, friendship, and all the little things that help people feel alive again.
