Nicholas F. Polo Foundation, Inc.

The NFP Foundation is a 501C3 tax exempt charitable foundation founded in 2017 by the family of Nicholas Polo. It is named in honor of Nicholas F.

It is designed to help address the needs of families who have children diagnosed with childhood cancers. Polo who is fortunate enough to be a childhood cancer survivor, and established to help “pay forward” many of the acts of kindness and support Nicholas and the Polo family received while he was undergoing treatment. At the age of 15, Nicholas was diagnosed with a rare childhood brain cancer-a p

ineal tumor called pineoblastoma. Motivated by the support of family and friends, Nicholas was able to fight through countless brain surgeries, 30 days of intense radiation to the brain, and a yearlong chemotherapy regimen. During this time, the support of family, friends and neighbors was crucial to his healing, and his family’s ability to support him. Each member of the family has been struck by the outpouring of support they received. Fundraising activities, dinners, and donations for diagnostic treatments were just a few of the acts of kindness that were provided for Nicholas and the Polo family. As the family distances itself from the pain of Nicholas’ cancer diagnosis and treatment, it is focused on taking action to help other families who are experiencing the devastation of childhood cancer, in much the same way they were supported during their own crisis. The mission therefore, is simple: to help alleviate the burdens and stresses associated with the diagnosis of childhood cancer, and to provide support for families in whatever way we can to make the experience as tolerable as possible. In order to make this possible we will fundraise and help to provide food, gifts and medical support for the families and children afflicted with childhood cancers.

Another successful year collecting toys for the kids at Winthrop Hospital! Thank you to everyone who donated and the businesses who helped collect! You all will help bring a smile to those fighting cancer this holiday season!

Its that time again. We are collecting donations for the NYU cancer center for kids! Please consider donating to those children who are battling cancer this holiday season. We will be dropping off these gifts on friday december 16th. Message us if you have any questions and for where to drop the toys off. Thank you!
